The other very critical area of governance is our local government. That is the arm that actually runs the country hence if we properly decentralize and elect regional governor/chief executive who will be responsible for revenue generation and development of their jurisdictions, trust you me, the country will move forward.
The issue where M/DCE's and regional minister(who in my opinion are completely useless in the governance structure) are appointed by the president to do his parties bidding in the regions or district, is the result of the crass incompetence and lack of development we're seeing.
We should scrap out the regional ministerial positions, vote for M/DCE's and strenghten the local assemblies to do execute their mandate. My 5cents.

Guys where are we going. We rejected union government so many decades ago and now we want to bring it back.No way. We opted for multi-party democracy. If a party is voted into power and the country finds that the party is unable to deliver, then we must find the way to boot that party out. I am against a situation where somebody stands on a platform and tells the whole world that he can take the nation forward so we should vote for him. Then after we have voted for him he starts blaming other people for not helping him to deliver what he said he could deliver on his own. The defect in our constitution is the fact that it does not make provision for early election . So we currently have paralyzed government but because we do not have an early election process we are stuck with it.We cannot have two commanders. There will only be one at any point in time. However if the commander feels he can no more command the best thing is for him to leave the scene and ask for early election. We will not accept a party shouting to be given power and yet when power is given to them then they blame the opposition for their non-performance.No we shall not accept this.If your party wins you rule if your party loses you wait. That is the only way that we can know which party performs better in government so that we can retain it in power. We do not want any dilution, concoction or free for all government where nobody could be held responsible and nobody takes charge. Choice is a natural behavior of human beings. We need a choice. We cannot accept union government.

Hahaha...there is nothing wrong with our current democratic set up. Political parties have polarized themselves that way in Ghana owing to selfish reasons.

Hahaha...there is nothing wrong with our current democratic set up. Political parties have polarized themselves that way in Ghana owing to selfish reasons.
A government led by a certain tribal leader tends to skew toward appointing his henchmen.
Rawlings did that. Kuffour did that. Late Mills did that.
The problem we have in Ghana is the high propensity for corruption. If people are patriotic, not seeing politics as a means of making money, but rather as a call to service, things will change sharply.
To suggest a new system, will not can not solve our problem. And the problem of selfishness as a result of corruption has eaten so deep in our Ghanaian fabric.
What we need to do is, start to instil discipline in what ever we do. Let the laws work. People must fear the law so that they are deterred from stealing.
President Mahama has an all inclusive government already. He has members from all political divide in his government. That has even angered his NDC base since they claim , they NDC members have been sidelined.
Anybody suggesting anything else, does not make sense. We must allow our democratic institutions to work. Bribery and corruption must seize to exist.
Its like we christians; we are a diversity-catholics, methodists, anglicans, presby, pentecostals and yet we all serve one GOD.
It is the believe in the faith that keeps us together even though we have our ways of going about celebration.
Kwesi Botchway is sort of ambitextre between running for office.
Of course, he wants to do that based on his past record as a Finance Minister. But was his tenure really successful?
The economy of Ghana enjoyed from 2010-2012 and there after the economy started stagnating.
We are keeping eagle eyes on these politicians and ecclesiates who are bent on anything to do to alter the current system, but the good people of Ghana will always speak up

It is a competitive, open and democratic rule, seeking the best welfare of the people and the state.

It enables the loser to seek job in the private sector to enable the one to gainfully earn his or her living and support the ruling government and others.

The winner takes all is not based on the teaching of Jesus Christ, but on democracy and efficient governance.

By-partisan Corruption in government is more destructive than the winner take all corruption. Bi-partisan corruption undermines the stability of government and the state.

In any event, we must condemn corruption in any form and appearance.

The winner takes all is the better devil we know as it is now: bi-partisanism is the Angel we do not know.

Go tell it to your people in NDC. Preach the message of good will to them. When they are ready, the country will move forward with a merger of NPP, CPP and PPP. ndc has to become a minority to shaddup and learn a few lessons

If you compare that from Jerry Rawlings to date, that man and other fellows killed people waaa and imprisoned loads of other people who had done noting wrong. NPP were not wicked. NDC have a serious history and deep levels of corruption to deal with. If Mahama does not deal with it seriously, and if NPP lose the next election, do you not think that PPP, CPP or whoever gets into power will jail them all ?

Denounce and relinquish our independence, we will remain a British colony forever but nothing like an apartheid state. We will use the same currency as Britain and throw away our useless cedi.

They will be tasked with building the necessary infrastructure to move us into a developed nation with the requisite industrial, social, military, financial, medical and educational systems. After accomplishing all these, we should be allowed to become British citizens in a British colony in Africa.

Simply put, we cannot manage our own affairs. We need to sell the country to the British as a protectorate with the "incentive" of becoming British citizens. A British territory on the African continent.

From independence till now, we do not understand love for our nation and democratic politics. Governments come to power to just enrich themselves and their families without thinking at the population at large.

Even without a constitutional mandate for inclusion of other party memebers, any political party or leadership which has the country at heart can reach out to other knowlegdeble party faithfuls for assistance. Unfortunately our corrupt practices will not allow us to tap into other party memebers. It looks like the two major parties have a deal to alternate "chopping" our resources needed for development. The laws of the country must be allowed to work. Punish politicians who steal from the government. Are assets declarations laws burried?
