visited Ghana just recently having stayed in the US for more than twelve years and I noticed that foreign banks operating in Ghana are the cause of Cedi depreciation. This is a naked truth. Yes, we said we needed foreign investors, they came and now operating maximising exorbitant profits which are even bigger than our GDP. Their respective profits maximised in CEDIS must be taken to their home-countries. How do they take CEDIS into their home-countries? They convert these trillion CEDIS gained here into DOLLARS and other foreign-trade currencies. Therefore putting demand pressure on dollars, that is demand for dollars increases as these foreign banks need them. For example, a Nigerian Bank called UBA, its annual profit is about Gh45 Million, this amount must be taken by the owners Nigerians from Ghana to Nigeria. How can they take this cedi amount to Nigeria? They have to convert it into dollars. So having many cedis on Nigerians to demand for dollars. What happens to the value of the dollar? Surely it would go up as against the cedi. Pressure is being mounted on the dollar from the cedi. And note we have more than five Nigerian banks operating in the country. Some print fake cedis to fill their profit ranges. So you can imagine how much of millions of Ghana cedis as profits they have to convert into dollars yearly or monthly to take to Nigeria .

We have also a South African bank called Stanbic operating in the country earning more than GhC30 million annually in which such an amount must be converted into dollars to take to South Africa by the owners. I don't usually talk about South African businesses operating in other foreign countries as the whole country according to World Records is the most xenophobic country in the world, and yet the country tries to get rooms for operating her businesses in other countries. The least said about that country the better. However, let's take this Stanbic bank converting Cedis into dollars in order for the money to reach the bank owner's country,South Africa, annually, what pressure mounts on the dollar from cedisl. These foreign banks are making big profits in cedis converting into dollars monthly to weak our cedi as they rise in high demand for dollars. This is the cause of the cedi depreciation.

You do not add to national development by insulting you prez because you do not like a policy, you bring alternatives else you reflect the very insults you are spewing out. Secondly to the extent that the party in power is being insulted even when you are in opposition why should they be confident that when you are in power you won't maltreat them. Result is you will linger in opposition for long until we see credible alternatives and a tolerant opposition. In any case what has this sad story of child abuse got to do with your contribution? I cry for mother Ghana

The number of court houses and judges in Ghana are inadequate. The population has ballooned and changes have to be made. The same can be said of the number of police officers and the number of penitentiaries. On a visit to a number of court houses around the country I found the Ghana flag and the Ghana Coat of Arms (Seal) absent. This must change.

Good policing is needed in order for companies to operate effectively. How many detectives has the Ghana police service got and to what extent do they pursue cases? Too many people are being robbed of their toil and sweat. It is important that we increas the police-population ratio.

In many areas especially in the at least 12 Akyem districts which make up more than half of the population of the Eastern Region the police is out of reach but the chiefs have been doing their best in ensuring that law and order prevail in these areas. The judiciary must provide these districts with an Appeals court and high courts. The law firms located there must have some work to do.

Looking at salary levels or the per capita income it is apparent that a sizable proportion of the population cannot afford good legal services. The government must therefore provide some subsidies in this regard lest our republic turn into an oligarchy.

Judges deserve good salaries but what would a judge consider virtuous?? Judges must bear in mind that their salaries cannot be more than the productivity of the general public. They must take the GNI per capita of Ghana into account.

How can judges help increase the GDP of Ghana? Judges must be at work by 8am and leave not before 5pm.

Some judges go to work at 9 and by 11.30am they close together with their secretaries. Such judges and their secretaries must be moved to other courts.

How many times have we heard of the word counseling? We only do that when there's a wedding coming up. A lot of them don't last anyway. I try very hard to prove our caucasian neighbors wrong about Africans being sub human, but it seems we prove them right all the time. This guy needs not only counseling, but should also be interrogated as to what led to the harm being caused. The No 1 reason of course is poverty. The article did not mention the victim's mother as being dead or alive.

People can go to the extreme if they want their children to be upright. My late father made me understand something in life that "we are accountable to society" meaning whatever we do, society or people are watching! This guy probably has caught the daughter several times in the act and may have issued warnings, which MAY have fallen on deaf ears. In this case which authority does he refer the matter to.

I went through the dilemma of noticing that my nephew AVOIDED brushing his teeth before going to school. All I did was to write a letter to his teacher about his silly unhygienic practice. I sealed the envelope and handed the letter to my nephew to send it to his teacher himself. The teacher after reading the letter, called him upfront and smelled his mouth. The teacher almost collapsed! The school did me a great service by keeping a watchful eye on everything hygienic about the whole class. At the PTA meeting, my method was hailed as one of the best.

Another argument will be that the little girl could be his stepdaughter. We all read, and watch on TV how some parents do worse things to their own children. And we also notice that 99% of these come about as a result of poverty. Abdul, my question is, if you have purchased a brand new LCD TV, and you are going to get a carpenter to drill some holes on your wall to fix the mount, and upon your return you notice that despite the numerous warnings you issued before you left, your kids invite some friends to have a look at it. In so doing they MISTAKENLY step on it and break it! Now if you are damn rich, you can easily get another one. But what if you took a loan from work which is repayable for a period of ONE year! I would be glad if someone could answer this question. Have a nice day.
