First of all that equally ignorant lady is not an honest person. Isnt it in Brazil where the citizens were and are still demonstrating daily during the current World Cup about the unbearable level of poverty in their country?

Why is this lady not being truthful to the Ghanaian football fans who are requesting for asylum? Why doesnt she tell them that over one-quarter of the adult population of the almost 200 million strong population Brazil have never ever had a job in their miserable lives. About ¾ of the Brazilian economy is in the hands of less than 5% of the population of that country. By that comparison, Ghana would very likely be a much more better place to live in for the poor and disadvantaged echelons of society.

Why is this Catholic lady not being truthful to herself and the Ghanaian football fans who are requesting for asylum? Why doesnt she tell them the stark truth that over one-quarter of the almost 200 million strong population of Brazil have never ever had a job in their lives. She should send those Ghanaian asylum-seekers on a tourist sight-seeing trip in and around the favelas of Rio de Janeiro and other cities and I bet they would quickly change their minds and scramble for the next available plane back home to a relatively home-sweet-home Ghana. By comparison, the favelas in Brazil make the slums of Sodom and Gomorrah, Nima and Accra central, look like the airport residential area.

Brazil has got a thin superficial veneer of well-being neatly covering a huge swathe of monstrous poverty that has earned it the pet name, the worlds biggest slum. As usual, most of the poor people in Brazil are mainly people of African origin and the original Indian populations – or what’s left of them. The richest - some of them being billionaires, are of course of European or Caucasian descent. There is therefore no need for me to further explain that, that country, in spite of all the effort made by the western media to make it look like a haven of fun and pleasure, is actually in private , unquestionably and morbidly racist.

Since we can, based on the former Deputy Minister of Sports own statement, assume that the vast majority of these Ghanaian asylum seekers in Brazil are NDC supporters, we can also safely assume that they are patently dishonest people. They are playing on the religious compassion of that vulnerable catholic lady only to get these resident Brazilian visas so that they can perhaps more easily re-appear in the almighty US of A one fine morning.

"Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Joseph Yamin has emphatically stated that majority of the Ghanaian supporters who will be sent to Brazil to support the Black Stars for the FIFA 2014 World Cup will come from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“If the responsibility is that we should send supporters to Brazil, then I will say it and say it again that everybody in Ghana will go but the majority will come from the NDC”, he stated.

The move, he said, is in retaliation to the sending of mainly New Patriotic Party supporters to Germany 2006 World Cup.

His remarks come a day after Minister of Youth and Sports, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah told the press that government has rescinded it’s decision to use taxpayer funds to fly 500 supporters to Brazil during the month-long tournament.

He explained the trip would be too costly.

Instead, government has said, they will airlift the fans to Brazil with the help of private entities. Dates provided for the airlifting during the press briefing was given as 13, 14 and 15 June 2014.

Speaking about the composition of the fans, Joseph Yamin pointed out that NDC activists will be given prominence in the list of supporters due to their tireless efforts in helping the party clinch power.

Almost everything that worked properly up to about year 2011 is getting bad. There is abuse everywhere, weak financial controls everywhere, deterioration of utility services everywhere. I strongly think there is the need for the leaders to relook what they inherited and admit they are failing!! Not sure meetings or committees will solve the problem! the management team simply is not up to the task and will have to step aside. Obviously i do not expect the members to step aside honorably !! we need Gods intervention for leadership change!!

Another symptom of failed leadership under the NDC gov't. These are all economic refugees which most Ghanaians all over the world are. The inability of our leaders to do right by the people is the cause of many a Ghanaian's sojourn to the outside world. I hope God touches the heart of the host country to grant them the needed reliefs to get something to do, go to school, acquire knowledge, get a better life, imbibe the attitude, culture and mindset that makes some of these advanced societies what they are, so they can all appreciate what it is to be leaving in a society where rule of law, good and effective leadership, excellent governance can do to enhance and actualize the fulfillment of the ambition and dreams of their citizenry in their pursuit of happiness and fellow feeling within the human construct, hopefully Ghana would reap the dividends of such exposure and catalyze our own growth and development paradigm. Our leaders have failed their people and the Mahama led NDC gov't is the worst of them all. It's pathetic when one considers the fact that we just had to build on our low middle income economy in the absence of oil, to a conclusive middle income economy with very high prospects for a higher income economy with the advent of our oil receipts.

"Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Joseph Yamin has emphatically stated that majority of the Ghanaian supporters who will be sent to Brazil to support the Black Stars for the FIFA 2014 World Cup will come from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“If the responsibility is that we should send supporters to Brazil, then I will say it and say it again that everybody in Ghana will go but the majority will come from the NDC”, he stated.

The move, he said, is in retaliation to the sending of mainly New Patriotic Party supporters to Germany 2006 World Cup.

His remarks come a day after Minister of Youth and Sports, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah told the press that government has rescinded it’s decision to use taxpayer funds to fly 500 supporters to Brazil during the month-long tournament.

He explained the trip would be too costly.

Instead, government has said, they will airlift the fans to Brazil with the help of private entities. Dates provided for the airlifting during the press briefing was given as 13, 14 and 15 June 2014.

Speaking about the composition of the fans, Joseph Yamin pointed out that NDC activists will be given prominence in the list of supporters due to their tireless efforts in helping the party clinch power.

This episode another of the numerous episodes of the Mahama/Amissah Arthur led NDC gov't's failed leadership, corruption riddled governance and incompetent administration is a huge and gargantuan indictment on the NDC gov't, that their own footsoldiers are now deserting them as a result of their ineptitude.
The center cannot hold and this should serve as a lesson to those NDC footsoldiers who see government administration as a football or soccer themed sport, that intrinsically, government administration is very, very serious business that requires competence, vision, principles and selflessness and not the propaganda, looting and thievery, which has created this debacle of monstrous proportions. If the current state of affairs of the country is anything to go by, then it shows clearly that, the hardships for which the NDC footsoldiers are fleeing, requires a lot of circumspection before they cast that final ballot, because, elections have consequences and bad governance and leadership creates the situation in which they find themselves. They need to learn from this and vote very, very wisely, because this is not where Ghana needs to be, and it is a lesson.
