  Statistics is required for socio-economic planning purposes, and for monitoring the outcome of government policy.
  
  Statistics must be of Good quality, reliable and be readily accessible in a timely fashion.
  
  This is an important initiative to enhance the quantity and quality of statistics production and dissemination.
  
  It is incumbent upon MOFEP and the GSS to ensure that the project achieves its goals.
  
  It can only be good for the socio-economic development of our country.
