  The chieftaincy disputes at Bimbilla were also brought before the Ghanaian courts and police to no avail, because such village affairs tend to be nearly inscrutable:
  
  Several notoriously lying fractions tend to constantly contradict each other about their alleged mess of "traditional rules".
  
  Totally secretive and tight-lipped to "outsiders" like police investigators, but always pleading to them, if they think they can gain something over their parochial "enemies".
