The earlier beginning of puberty worldwide will force societies to consider adapted approaches to matters of youth sexuality.*
On the one hand, most youths are by now expected to avoid getting babies until they have finished their education and apprenticeships, while at the same time they are often forbidden the use of hygienic contraceptives such as condoms, or even left totally in the dark about sexual hygiene.
On the other hand, pornographic material can be found by youths everywhere in Ghana, even lying on the streets, as I have witnessed, for even schoolchildren to see and pick up, Ghallywood movies loaded with sexual innuendo, news of e.g. teachers seducing or abusing young pupils, rapist activities abounding, porno-CDs sold in some small village stores (just under the top boxes on the front counter, as I got a glimpse), porno-pictures circling on many youth's cellphones and readily available of course in modern media. One of my sons was exposed by a visiting slightly older boy to the start of a porno-video when he was 11 years old - I caught them starting to watch it.
Even without access to pornos, due to the onset of puberty years earlier than some decades ago, youths forbidden to enact sexuality will either resort to sex in secrecy, resulting in pregnancies with the young boys running away, and often infections with hepatitis B etc., or with forced celibacy for about 8- 10 years with surely harmful psychological defects.
* Societies worldwide will have to find respectful ways without suppressing or ignoring the fact of youths' earlier sexuality, otherwise they will start crumbling apart due to the unvented sexual frustrations of the youths, such as manifested in becoming generations of sexually twisted "Rebels without a Cause".
