What is this? Some kind of a joke- a screen play for an off-off- Broadway comedy show ? - " The snatching away of the docile wives of diasporian Ghanaian by some Ghanaian men. "

Most of the people involved in these "temporary" marriages may have met their partners somewhere along the way and their union was for convenience. Others might have accepted the proposal, not for love but just as a ticket to abroad. Some of the women were involved in prostitution either in Abidjan, Nigeria or Europe before meeting their man. Some get married to their men because they want to leave to another country due to immigration problems.

When they reach their new destination and everything, including immigration papers are completed, these women think they no longer need their men. Some even think their men are blocking their chances of making money and they could do better on their own. They want to build the best house in their village back home or want their house to be bigger than that of their husband. Because of this, they are ready to do anything for money. Some sleep with their male supervisors at work so that they can be given more overtime work. Once you show them the money, they are ready to open their legs. In fact, they become "cash and carry." Our women are very cheap too, easy to sleep with at a very low cost.

Most of the time, because the love is not there, these women can be deceived with a little money. At times, their new man is doing a better job than their husband or because the new man has no family responsibilities, he is prepared to spend his money on a friends wife he has been admiring. Some men sponsor the trip of these women so that they meet in Ghana for their love affairs since most couples do not travel to Ghana together. One has to stay behind to take care of the children or the home.
