This child was definitely killed because of overreaction to frustration and not intentional. You can tell this from the behaviour of the killer. This is a case of temporary insanity and overreaction borne out frustration.

Without any government doing nothing about these, the abuse of the vulnerable will continue. It is the government that needs to step in and educate the people. Unfortunately, we have the first lady going to the witch camps to donate items there. How stupid could she be? Those camps need to be abolished ASAP.

Children have no rights in our country. Parents do not seek their concerns in everything and even when older people are around they are asked to leave that area.

A child has no right to ask questions from his parents, let alone disagree with them.

A child has no right to challenge his teacher in the classroom. If a question is asked and the teacher does not know, the child could get himself into trouble.

Is it any wonder that we are producing "Literate uneducated" leaders who can't think critically to help our country?

At the age of 50 or 60 with pot bellies, the fathers are the ones still eating the "FAT" on the dinner table. HE is giving all the meat and the child is given the feet of chicken. The parents sleep on best mattress while the child sleeps on the floor. The father wears the best slippers while the child goes to school on foot. WHO NEEDS THESE STUFF to grow healthy?

And all the wisdom and experience the older ones or the aged are being ignored because we consider them as Witches or Wizards and abandoned them in the villages.

You go to our villages, the father is sitting somewhere playing the draft or drinking, while the women are carrying the babies on their backs and carrying foodstuff on their heads to come home and prepare sumptuous meal for the man. All the man does is to stick his dick in the Woman's thing to produce as if when God told humankind to produce and fill the earth, he had only African men on his mind.

A Nation that refuses to take care of their vulnerable ones will regret later and that is what is happening.

Secondly, your husband called and told you that your son is seriously sick but has locked him up in a room and you did not even protest and demand that you want to see the son right away.

Thirdly, how could someone 'drop' a dead body at some mysterious mortuary. Do they allow people in Ghana to operate mortuaries in Ghana whereby anyone could go there to drop a dead body without a medical doctor declaring the person dead?

I am burning with anger towards ALL that involved in this heinous crime.

Looking at the baby, it is obvious that those lacerations, cuts or bruises are not current/new. They looked very old and it seems, this 'father' had been beating the boy for months, if not years?

The question is, where was the mother? Did she not see all these marks or what her son was going through all these years? Or, is she an accomplice to these beatings?

Just looking at her, she has no remorse whatsoever for this child. She also needs to investigated.

Take a look at the pictures again and you will see that the beatings did not happen once. The child had been beating for months if not years. This happens in almost every home in Ghana.

This is why I believe the womon knew all along what was going on. That was the reason why she would accept an excuse that, her 'seriously sick" child had been locked up.

Jail the father if arrested. But investigation should be done on the woman to ascertain whether or not she knew the beatings were going on?

Education should be the key to ameliorate these crimes in our society. We are dealing with a Nation that accepts "Witches Camps" and strangely, all the witches are old ladies and not young women.

How on earth do you write a crime story of this magnitude and not give the reading public such vital information such as the name of the deceased...THIS SHOULD ALWAYS COME FIRST BECAUSE HE IS THE VICTIM, it should be written this way...a four-year old boy was reportedly beaten to death by his father who is said to have fled the scene of the murder, police said.. then, you go ahead and mention the name of the deceased, his address and the suspect's name and his place of work, his age and address, where the crime occurred and what time the alleged gruesome crime happened? This is pure laziness and it reflects badly on the whole journalism scene in Ghana.
Media organizations are quick to broadcast, telecast and print these kinds of stories without doing due diligence..if I were the editor at peacefm, I would kick the reporter who wrote this piece in his/her ass and push them out of the door to hit the pavement and do some more reporting...because there are huge gaps in the story that need to be filled...pathetic....

There must be a law on how morgues accept bodies. If a person dies outside a hospital or to put it other way if there is no clinician signed death certificate then a morgue should never accept a body from the public unless from the police. Thus, all death outside the hospital must either be reported to the police or the body taken to the accident and emergency for a formal medical certificate.
I know in Ghana there are instance where people die at home and are buried without informing the authorities. For many important reasons this should not happen. A home death could have been as a result of an emerging epidemic or, as in this case, a murder therefore, the law must be enforced that every home death is reported to the authorities for investigation and autopsy. But, I guess as it is always the case in Ghana this will be done until there is a major disaster... We are failing on many fields.
