INTRO.THE PASTOR'S CRY.
This day of the resurrection of Jesus christ is to mark a turning point in my life as I decide to change my methods of approach to the numerous problems of suffering people I meet. Perhaps I will be able to draw the attention of capable bodies, not only in my locality but the world at large, elsewhere if not nearby,to effect some changes in the lives of the voiceless poor souls who come my way hoping to to find solace. They often come to take counsel as to how to go about their problems in pursuit of some sort of solutions . Most of them are people oppressed, suppressed and repressed or wickedly treated in diverse ways to compel them to bow to the demands of the strong and previllaged who are often aided by people in authority or command. These are people who often ask if there could ever be a day of sunshine in their world of darkness. But I hearthat the animal rights organizations protest against horse trainers who maltreat their horses with the aim of hardening them to withstand toucher or bitter conditions and to make them simply submissive. In their cases nobody seams to care.
I read a book about thirty years ago about the mafia. I cherished the idea which led to the formation of the group. I read about how in their own way would retry some cases underground giving a fair trial and fair representations . Even though their ways of effecting their judgement would Sometimes be costly, their aims were in most cases achieved, that was to do justice to the deserved party. My question is: do we have to go back to those days, to put the right in position? In these days when common sins have been accepted as common sense is there no way to redeem the innocent by revealing the atrocities of the wicked. The evil machinations of the bad elements of our world today cannot have their way forever,no evil must not rule forever I believe .

Don Juan, do African leaders need Obama to know these? No wonder Africa still remains rubbish yard. Why would they need Obama to openly say they should find reliable strategy to outwit western suppression and manipulation? China, Russia, India, etc. are all growing political, economic, etc. capacities and anything make or break to emancipate themselves whilst Africans are rather indulging themselves in dependency, suppression, manipulation of the West. Obama's counsel would be irrelevant if African heads are 'leaders'. Obama knows, that even communist North Korea must be feared and respected than bunch of despondent Africa's buying into Western suppression.

Manson UK, I like your spirit. When will you write to advise African leaders to go to forum like this to disgrace us. Do they need America to tell them to wake up to reality before they do? We have all the resources and the market to trade among ourselves for the development of Africa and yet the willingness is not there. I think we lack foresight big time. Greediness and stupidity has let Africa down. A word to the wise is enough. Who told you America is suppose to help us? Well said yapo! Africa cannot continue to live in the past. African countries be proactive, diversify your economies and shift your focus from the exportation of natural resources to value added manufactured goods and services. In other words the bulk of national GDP generation should be refocused on manufactured goods and services, instead of on raw materials and extractive products-the mainstay of African economies. Malaysia, Indonesia, Chile and Mauritius-an African state, have done just that why not African countries.

President Mahama is reported to have given orders to his economic team to go to the IMF for a bail out. His Finance Minister claims the reason why Ghana is going for IMF bail out is to regain international confidence in the economy and the cedi. After wasting Ghana's resources on GYEEDA, SADA, SUBAH, Woyome and other judgement debts, they turn round to blame the global economic situation. Obama knows how to sweet-talk very well. Ask him who's been supporting the corrupt, clueless regimes in Africa from Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea to Badluck Jonathan of Nigeria? He allied with Europe to kill Gaddafi and steal his billions of reserves and his sweet crude oil, leaving Libya in the same state of permanent chaos as Iraq and Syria. Thanks to the "First Black President of the USA", thousands of Black Libyans and African migrant workers have been slaughtered by the racist, terrorist that NATO put in charge of Libya. Gaddafi was killed because he was going to create an African IMF and encourage economies that were not based on the US dollar. As US President, Barack has first class intelligence on all economic and political affairs on the continent. He knows where all he monies being stolen from Africa are kept but keeps quiet and leverages that information to bend those corrupt African leaders to the US policy aims and goals. What is Obama's legacy in Africa? What can he say he did to make a difference in Africa?

The west, led by the only superpower in the world, USA also has to do its part. They should stop babysitting these countries who want to be welfare states. This nonsense about developmental partners should cease to be a lexicon in our political language.
African countries should learn to live within their means.
The West should also help by seizing the bank accounts of these corrupt officials including fixed assets purchased through corrupt means.
Mahama might not lose that much since his stolen properties, cash, mansions and hotels are securely tucked away in Dubai, UAE.

Both Equatorial Guinea and US presidents are all right. There is no doubt the remnants of colonialism and neocolonialism affect Africa. At the same time Africa cannot continue the blame. The West created their economic system that we are all following. The West knows very well that the the assets acquired by the few greedy leaders are stolen but they accept the monies and give Africa AID. If they can return all the stolen money seize the assets and return the proceeds to Africa, there will not be a African summit in US. African summit will be in Africa. Africa should understand the economic system of the West, modify it to suite Africans. Africans should believe in themselves and their resources, value their human capital, help each other, stop stealing from each other and stop helping others to steal from Africa.

America cared less about Africa in the past, but right at this moment in history, Africa is again very important for all the countries, because it has abundant natural resources, that are not well managed. If indeed these natural resources are managed properly, African countries would be able to send their children to school, provide health care for their people, produce more food for consumption for their people. It is very important for the leaders to listen and take advice from Obama. I also would like to let the African citizens know that the economy will not come from America, France, Russia, Great Britain, Germany or else where, rather it will come from Africa. Let us work for rapid development to improve Africa's infrastructure. We cannot remain a laughing stock for the rest of the world. We have the land, we have the natural resources, we have the human resources as well. So get up and let us work harder. This is my point.

Ghana's economy is a mess not because of lack of resources, it is lack of leadership, and corruption.
How can leadership allow Woyome to swindle fifty one million dollars from state coffers for no job done, all because, Woyome is a financier of the ruling NDC government.
Organizations such as GYEEDA,SUBA and many more are established to loot money from the nation's coffers.
A small country like Ghana is blessed with Gold, cocoa, timber, oil and yet our children attend school under trees, and teachers have no materials to teach. We borrow for everything. I agree with President Obama, it lack of leadership, and as long as the west will always bail africa off from her economic mismanagement corruption will never be stopped.

If you keep eating your eggs, where would be the chicken out of your incubator?
OUR LEADERS SHOULD STOP THE BRIBERY & CORRUPTION,JUDGEMENT DEBT PAYMENTS,START TO BUILD ON GOALS AND STRATEGIES THAT CASH IN,FOR AFRICA.

"There are a lot of countries where the leaders have a lot of resources, but the money is not going back to provide health clinics for young mothers."
These are the words of the president of the United states of American.Obama forgot that presidents of African countries and their entourage come into office for one thing--TO ENRICH THEMSELVES. Ghana ,afterall her resources should never be providing hardships unto her citizens. The root cause of the problems is briefly stated--CORRUPTION and INCOMPETENCE.If a CEO of a 65 billion a year American company company can provide leadership for shareholders and employees to get bonuses, why can't a president of only a 14 billion a year country, with all the abundant resources and sizeable population provide that kind of leadership for the citizens to live better.Problems befall America but with good leadership, things get turned around. The difference between the USA president and the African president including Ghana is 'LOVE OF COUNTRY'.Obama is serving his country out of patriotism and not in the Oval office to steal money and hide them care of friends and relatives abroad.Until we take drastic measures to eradicate all the vices i.e corruption, cronism etc we will still lag behind despite our resources.SHAME ON OUR LEADERS!!! I bet you all the aspiring candidates for the presidency ,MP and other positions have their own agenda but not in the interest of the country.

Dr. kwame Nkrumah foresaw this but then nation wreckers party; UP and now NPP killed Osagyefo and his dreams for Africa's liberation. this is a wake up call for all knowledgeable Ghanaians that, since the independence of this country, up, npp hasn't not loved this country one bit.
Why are they calling our President that he is an incompetent? Have they now forgotten that they said they will make this country ungovernable? they wished for it and now they have it so what's their problem.
what are they saying, that they have this nation at heat?
the history has it that, while Dr. Nkrumah was fighting for an independent of this nation, some people were telling the Queen not to allow us have our freedom.
having done all that they could do to stop Dr. Nkrumah from building akosombo dam, they now call Mahama sum so dum so president. in fact, were they interested in having electricity in this nation?
Yes, agree 100% with whatever president Obama said but Osagyefo Dr. kwame Nkrumah had been allowed to realize his dreams for Ghana and Africa for that matter, Obama wouldn't have gotten the opportunity say that.
All those who supported and support the overthrow of Dr. kwame Nkrumah should bow down their heads in shame.
Yes, president Mahama is not performing but, na who cause am?
if Osagyefo had even been allowed for just 10yrs, we wouldn't have been where we are today. Don't be deceived by both NDC and NPP tricks. they are all the same. they all create loot and then share. Be wise in election 2016.

What President Obama is saying is very TRUE. And that implies our leaders must stop being corrupt, and cheating us. These African leaders often steal our resources and then turn around to blame all on the West.
However, President Obama must assure us that he would do what it takes to strengthen all existing measures that discourage Western Investors and Businesses from joining the corrupt leaders to steal from us. He can reinforce the legal and ethical prescriptions for US Firms to reject any invitation from our crooked leaders to join them in cheating us.
Our elders have a proverb that says: "While you are admonishing the Cat to desist from stealing the Stock Fish, you must also advise the Stock Fish to stop exuding its odor that lures the Cat."
Corruption in Africa involving our Political leaders often show deep complicity of Western entities. And when the ordinary folks begin to charge these Western entities of their shared culpability, we are told we hate Capitalism, and are repelling Free Market...something that they use to scare off potential genuine Investors from coming to help.
If we have a very principled Government that cracks down on corruption and metes out drastic penalties to any culpable Business entities from the West, America must not simply claim that to be an anti-West Government but firmly stand by the truth and support that Administration, so long as no discrimination against Western entities exists.
We all know how the Mills' Administration's initial protest to the Kosmos-EO deal was quickly turned into an inter-Governmental fracas with the unconditional support of the US and her Embassy in Ghana for Kosmos and EO, despite genuine breach of Ghana's Laws in the process.
While we must be appreciative of whatever partnership the Western Businesses have to offer, we must not be relegated to some mummified dunces who must simply accept any unfair Economic, financial, or commercial deal from our Western partners and some local accomplices. We must be held to similar legal and ethical expectations as America would have for her Businesses locally.
At least, the genuine malaise associated with any such unfair deal must be conceded and a joint amicable remediation offered to resolve the crisis. Often that is not the case. A presumption of some anti-Western sentiments is instantaneously adopted by the USA political Authorities to turn the issue into just a political dispute. We cannot forget the use of the US Congress to intervene on behalf of the Kosmos-EO Group, while embarrassingly blacklisting our Ministers for US Visas when they wanted to travel to the USA for further discussions on the issue.
So, as Obama chastises our leaders, deservedly, he must also assure us that he would help discourage US and other Western Economic partners, private or public, from colluding with our corrupt leaders to cheat us.
I would humbly entreat President Obama to put our leaders on notice that the US would help expose all their hidden Accounts in safe havens in the US and elsewhere.
I have even suggested that our culpable Political leaders cited for massive corruption like SADA, Woyomegate, GYEEDA, etc., be subject to prosecution at the Hague for crimes against humanity. After all, some of our Military Officers were punished with execution by firing squad for their alleged Corruption, and the Hague would be a much more humane process to counter similar crimes by our Civilian political leaders. That may sound excessive. But our leaders only respond to excessive reaction to their malfeasance, I am afraid. It did not have to take the entreaties of President Obama and other foreign influences for our leaders to take note of the inimical impact their insensitive Corruption and ineptitude are having on us.
Long Live Ghana!!!

Our leaders must stop looting our resources and attend to our needs. Those who save their loot in foreign lands must return the loot for national development. Those who buy houses in America, Europe, Dubai, Cape Town etc. must sell those houses and invest the monies at home. They must show the way for citizens to believe and accept their call to patronize local goods. Charity must always begin at home. Our leaders cannot continue to divert our resources into their private pockets and blame Western domination or colonialism for our poverty. They must not forget that the almighty United States of America was also once a colony. The leaders they had after independence did not loot the country's resources but put these resources to very good use for their people and country. That is the great difference between them and the always complaining, always looting and always begging leaders of Africa, our own Ghana included.

As much as Obama is right in encouraging African Leaders, he should listen to what our leaders have to say and think deep. We hear about LIBOR, where the western countries between themselves play games with currencies. We hear about all kinds of underhand dealings on the stock market. Ghana, or West Africa as a whole is the Highest producer of COCOA on the world market. I could say the same for other commodities, When they are priced, do we in AFRICA HAVE A SAY? NO. How many times do we have to [protest, and be ignored. As humans we have the right to suspect the West of underhand dealings just like anybody else. When some of our leaders speak about these things that they feel is going on, they mean well. In some cases some of them are punished in surreptitious ways for saying what they think is right. Africa does not produce arms, and the continent is flooded with armaments. Does Obama not think he can do something about that? We can go non and on about our grievances, but who is going to hear us. We hope things change for the better soon. Long live Africa.

When the embassador of US wrote in tweeter about John Mahama was because John Mahama is depending on EU and IMF to give loads to ghana we cant pay back.
European Union Partnership Trade Agreement sign by John Mahama using ECOWAS instead of ghanaians deciding whether we should go back to the very colonel masters we had independence from.
Obama is taking to John Mahama and John Mahama alone. He is the only president who thinks China, EU, USA, UK, IMF and the World bankshould ran the affairs of ghana.
Ghana Cocoa, Oil and things we export should be enough to feed all ghanaians if ghana only govt dont borrow money with 300% interest.
Ghana should cancel the 40 years EPA deal, the agreement on trade should be a govt decision but that of Paliament. EPA deals that no ghanaian have seen the final deal.
USA and World Trade Org are not happy for EU to decide what ghana can trade with US.
If a country dont have trade freedom, that country dont have independence.
Joh Mahama and Hannah Tetteh should be ashame for selling ghana freedom to EU.

Please call Prez. John Mahama and leaders of all those African countries that you have been monitoring and tell it straight to their face, else they'll continue to cause problems for citizens of the continent. Prez. Obama, I'd humbly urge you to take a quick visit to Ghana these days after your first visit and see things for yourself what has become of Ghana since the last time you were there.
Go to Ghana and have a conference chat with everyone; you'll hear from the voices of the people. They [NDC] party people pressed the neck of former Prez Atta-Mills and killed him when they saw that things weren't going well for their gov't; they knew he'd lose the elections that's why they killed the late Prez.
Now things have gotten even worse after they stole the elections. I believe that you'd agree with me and many others that electoral fraud has brought all these hardships on Ghanaians. Stay bless Mr. President.

First of all, all African leaders are old mkfckrs...They lack ideas and innovation. They lack exposure and the ability to turn things around. They are only rooted in tradition, corruption, and the quest to make money by any means to satisfy themselves , their tribes and their cronies. What Africa needs is young ,accomplished, exposed , well educated, business minded with a strong moral compass to move the continent around and bring drastic changes. Africa needs leaders who will tackle corruption headon and arrest corrupt officials and make it difficult to steal money. The first step is digitization of all transactions to maintain records keeping on all transactions. African needs strong judiciary and an Accountant General Office that will monitor all business and financial transactions and make sure the money from the sale of exports and others are tricking down to health , education, and development needs.

I have always maintain a country is made up of several family units and its the same financial principle you employ in managing both. As a family you don't earn 1000GHC and spend 5000GHC every month and expect your family to do well. In the same way as a nation when we live above our means we are bound to suffer. If the nation uses the little income we generate wisely , we will do well without relying on other nations to come to our aid.Every minister and government official drives a V8 SUV who pays for the vehicle , the petrol etc, govt. officials travel in business class . For heaven sake can't they travel in the economy ?, over spending on building projects because no one is held accountable, over bloated civil service, lack of accountability for how we spend our money and use our natural resources until we change no amount of foreign aid is ever going to liberate us from poverty. Obama is right its is not the aid that is going to liberate us from poverty but our determination as a nation to do the right thing and make smart decisions both at the govt level and personal level is what is going to save us as a nation. A nice example is this one. It will take me about 2 liters of petrol to travel from Kanda to Accra Central in a typical American road but the same trip will cost me about 5 liters of petrol on a Ghanaian road meaning if there are one million cars in Ghana typically we are wasting 3 million liters of petrol every day in terms of money even if a liter of petrol is 2GHC we are wasting 6 million GHC times 365 days. The Lord have mercy on us. So will having efficiency road system not help reduce some of this cost and save us the much needed foreign exchange ?

Barack Obama does not appear to understand international politics.
The very fact that he can call African countries to a summit in the US and subject visiting heads of state to Ebola checks shows the imbalance in power between countries. The powerful countries use their political and economic power to subdue the less powerful and subject them to political and economic control.
Decision-making by African gov'ts is influenced by these powerful foreign countries. The IMF and World Bank often curb social interventions by imposing conditionalites on countries undergoing their structural adjustment programs.
The room for maneouvre by African gov'ts is severely limited. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo spoke from experience as an African leader, while Barack Obama displayed a lack of understanding of the plight of Africa.

1. Barack Obama understands international politics. And, assuming he's as daft as an African leader, he has at his disposal an experienced and intelligent civil service that practises international politics on a day to day basis, and can provide him with superior advice than any African country's civil service can ever dream of.
2. African leaders do not have to attend the summit if they don't want to.
3. Decision making by African governments is heavily influenced by corruption, nepotism, a deliberate refusal to ensure public interest is the overriding interest in public policy. (By the way, please describe any circumstance in life, where someone does not want to exert some influence on another. Is it marriage or day nursery? I'll be glad to hear from you on that.). In the 20 years of PNDC/NDC and other military regimes - and arguably even now - did we have any transparency as to how money was spent by our leaders, or whether government policies were costed and implemented? Have you asked yourself how it is possible that in every government in Ghana, Ministers go out weekly to make promises that government is going to do A, B and C, even when these things have not been budgeted for? Do you think, Obama can say make such empty promises on a weekly basis and go scot free in the US? Have you asked yourself why so many Asian countries don't go to the IMF to be told what to do and be given conditionalities?
4. How can room for African leaders to manoeuvre be severely limited? A country of about 24 million, and we have 11 supreme court judges. A western country of the same population has 6 judges in their supreme court. In Ghana, the President is blamed for everything. Have you asked yourself why all the institutions in the country cannot carry out their responsibilities? People go to university with taxpayers' monies and when they start working they can't ensure accountability in their workplaces so we have hundreds of thousands of ghost names in the civil service. And all is the President's fault, because the police cannot investigate fraud, and our graduates cannot arrest mismanagement. And you are happy to say we don't have room to manoeuvre.
5. Theodore Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. Please spend 30 minutes reading about him, and let me know what you think. Just remind me of how he has been able to maintain power for so long, compared to US Presidents who have to leave office after 8 years maximum. As you are it, please try and list his achievements and how he has used his country's oil revenue for the well being of his people.
6. If you can provide honest answers to all the above, pat yourself on the back.
Best wishes.

An African leader raids his country's consolidated fund to bribe his way to electoral victory. Everybody in Africa knows this. Even the Economic guru at the African Development Bank (a chap by name Ncube or something) has said that significant macroeconomic gains are often erased during and after general elections and he's not sure why this happens (I guess he was being polite).
After raiding the country's kitty, the President cries foul and laments the state of the economy. He claims he needs the help of everyone, so we should pay more taxes to finance government expenditure, but we can't discuss or find out exactly what constitutes the expenditure. It is now obvious he's not being taken seriously, so what does he do? Let's go to Senkyi, somewhere in the bush and have a chat. The opposition say 'tweeaaaa, you are having a laugh ... do you take us for mugs? Even Kevin Prince and Sulley Muntari can see through your lies, let alone us intellectuals with law degrees from Legon and economic degrees from Oxford and Standford?'
In any case, Senkyi is not keen to miss the chance to put its name on the international map, so the conference takes place. What does Senkyi tell us then? Nothing really, apart from 'we must do this and that, and the financial markets are supposed to do this and that etc'
Little did we know that Senkyi is the proverbial ostridge, very happy to put its head in the sand. Senkyi could not bring itself to say what we all know ie the elephant in the room, which is CORRUPTION.
Because we are corrupt, we pretend we do not know how to do anything. We do not think there will be any consequences if we spend our little money on election campaigning, or buy cars for national house of chiefs (an institution without any record of tangible delivery of anything positive). Because of corruption, we think it is ok to fly professional athletes on long distances in economy class although an international organisation has made money available for them to fly in business class.
Senkyi does not try to link our corruption, nepotism and apathy to our lack of progress. Senkyi thinks it is ok to have all sorts of inexperienced people giving policy direction to our Treasury or finance ministry. Go and read Singapore's history after independence. They ensured that graduates without first class degrees did not enter their central bank to work on policy matters. When they didn't have the required quality, they recruited retired British bankers to come and assist them. They started off with meritocracy, and today, despite issues with racial imbalances in some of their institutions, they are on a great path.
Decades ago, Prof Akilapka Sawyerr of the PNDC admitted that our politicians and economists did not understand the workings of international politics and diplomacy. This was in relation to the renegotiation of the VALCO contracts. In hindsight, the Professor was very charitable indeed. I don't think he could have envisaged that any Ghanaian President would be willing to spend taxpayers' money to sponsor priests and pastors to Israel to pray for the government. If prayers in Israel was the solution to any problem, the Israelis won't be fighting a war to defend their safety from those they consider to be their enemies.
After Senkyi, there was another meeting chaired by the President to implement Senkyi consensus.
The Senkyi consensus should only have been about this statement: "Our leaders must strive to reform the country, including our attitudes to corruption. Our leaders must show the three Cs ie conviction, courage and communication. Conviction and Courage means a leader should have a strong sense of values, a clear sense of purpose, and the courage to pursue those values in the face of strong opposition from vested interests, be it tribal, political, or whatever. And our leaders must demonstrate a strong understanding of, and accept, the importance of placing the public interests above private or political interests."
Lastly, it is now clear that the handouts from development partners has allowed us to sit idly by while our leaders corrupt our finances and undermine our well being. Is it not interesting that as soon as our development partners stopped providing us with the usual assistance, our hardships have been so bad that even our middle classes have woken up to go on demonstration. If Obama and his ilk stop giving us assistance, Ghanaians will wake up and be more demanding of their leaders, and they would seek transparency and behave like the electorate in western societies. In those societies, they know that if government ministers are allowed to have free petrol for personal use, it has a direct effect on other taxpayers. They also ensure that if corruption occurs and the culprits are flushed out, they will be prosecuted, unlike what occurs in Ghana.
Mr US President, please don't gave us any more aid.

A Technological Revolution is needed in Africa. I wonder if any African country makes electric motors. Zambia produces the copper needed to make electric motors but does not produce any electric motor. Zambia sells the copper cheap to Japan, who then produces electric motors, puts them in cars, refrigerators, generators, etc, and sells them back to Zambia at value added prices. I am not sure if any African country produces any measuring instrument. I don't believe we even make metric rulers. You must first make rulers to take measurements. Then use the measurements to make machines. Then use the machines to make more machines (Tractors, Earth Movers, computers etc.) This will create employment for the engineers, factory workers and farmers. When a machine breaks down, you don't have to wait for an expert from abroad to fix it. Make it. Fix it. There is too much buying and re-selling going on. Without local production, most people will be engaged in buying and re-selling or working in administrative/clerical positions. At the end of the African work day, it would be interesting to measure how much real productivity has taken place. I leave that to the professionals who are paid to do this. We have the talent but it is not being put to use in a coordinated fashion.

Obama, you are an embarrassment. African Americans continue to blame the slave trade, racism and continued discrimination for their current predicament, including their preponderance in the countries prisons. Tell them to stop using these historical experiences as excuses. African leaders are a disgrace. Why should they allow themselves to be lectured by a President who has shown himself to be indifferent and ignorant of Africa's issues and challenges. When strong, independent leaders emerge on the African continent, the US and its western allies will kill them or cause their downfall. When bad leaders emerge, America supports them so long as they are subservient to US demands. At the height of the cold war, the US and USSR fought their proxy wars in Africa. Do you want us to forget the harm that these kinds of meddling have done?

Very well said Kojo. You are a wise man among a sea of sycophants. The thought of all these African heads of states flying to the USA to listen to this rubbish from Obama baffles me. Nkrumah and other leaders who fought for our freedoms will be turning in their graves. Does Obama care about Africa? I don’t really think so. Does he have any long term substantial plan to help for sustainable development in Africa? I guess not? This meeting is just to counter the rate of China’s expansion in Africa - back to the ‘cold war’ and Africa will be the worse for it. What we need is to go back to the vision that Nkrumah and others had for the continent.
Following Obama’s speech in Cairo, we had the so-called Arab spring and where has that got us? Chaos in Libya, Iraq, Syria, and instability in Egypt, Tunisia, to mention just a few. What Africa needs in these difficult times is a very calm deliberation among its peoples on the way forward and not a lecture from President Obama, especially when he seems to have lost his tongue as Gaza burns and innocent Palestinian children and women are being killed every day. I hope he has the same empathy for the Palestinian children as he had for Trayvon Martin when the innocent teenager was shot dead just because of the colour of his skin.

This generation of african leaders are ignorant greedy bastards who are in politics just to rob their own people. They blame everybody for their backwardness and stupidity. They blame the whiteman if they have diarrhoea, constipation, malaria and headache. These arrogant, ignorant bastards in politics, have done more harm to their people than anytime in the history of colonisation. Why do you blame the whiteman who left our shores fifty years ago? The founding fathers under the leadership of Osagyefo Dr. Nkrumah gave us the foundation to build on, but Koo Darkie with his little mind and hatred, destroyed everything. The state assets which belong to the people of Ghana were sold by Rawlings who was about seven years old at the time of our independence. His wife,-nana Konadu is beneficiary of the Nsawam cannery which was one the state assets. This greedy woman has recently collected four million dollars from NDC government as 'judgement debt'. 'Judgement debt' is a ponzi scheme to rob the people of Ghana with the connivance of the dysfunctional judiciary. Woyomi was beneficiary of the 'judgement debt'. In my estimation all regimes after Nkrumah have failed to reach the threshold of the diversification process. The situation has also been worsened by corruption, tribalism, nepotism, lack of transparency and misplace priorities.

America built its wealth on the backs of AFRICANS they ENSLAVED. Give even a country like Somalia FREE slave labour for 500 years and sit back and watch DEVELOPMENT. My point is, any country can develop using FREE human resources for 500 years!! That's what the West did, and still doing, albeit differently.
Is Mr. Obama implying that the relationship the West has had with Africa is not detrimental to Africa's development? He must be joking!!
Yes, there's corruption in Africa which costs that continent somehow, but why should the West determine the price of our commodities, when Africa doesn't have a say in the price of the produce from the West? This is not only arrogance but hypocritical.
We're NOT children in Africa Mr president: even the West takes out our astute leaders who have genuine development plans for Africa, so stop this lecture Mr Obama, and be honest that the West has kept iron grip on Africa's resources even after decolonization, and living off Africa.
Don't worry Mr. Obama, new breed of African leaders will eventually emerge to stop the arrogant relations the west has imposed on Africa which is impoverishing that continent.

Barack Obama lied and just like any other U.S. president will continue to lie through his tooth. The economic policies of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was aborted by the U.S. through the Central Intelligence Agency. All the economic policies that Patrice Lumumba desired for his country were all aborted because the same U.S. and her NATO partners murdered him. The River Congo that would have electrified the whole of Africa does not have a single hydroelectric power station build on it because the U.S. and her partners in crime against Africa are of the view that Africa with energy resources will compete with them. The west said that capitalism is competition, yet they do not want to compete with anybody.
In 2011 the world witnessed how the U.S. and her partners murdered Murmur Ghaddafi. The war in the Ukraine will not happen if Barack Obama and his NATO allies were not to have supported the fascists there. After the Ukraine parliament voted to reject the EU trade policy the U.S. and her NATO partners did all exist at their disposal to overthrow the Ukraine government without and armed revolt and install their puppet regime there.
I am of the view that an African yo washes his face upwards will take Barack Obama serious when the issue is about Africa.

A COMBINATION OF THREATS AND INTIMIDATION WAS USED TO FORCE GHANA TO ACCEPT AN IMF LOAN IN ORDER TO ALLOW THE USA TO USE THESE LOANS AS LEVERAGE TO FORCE US TO DO WHAT THEY WANT.External enemies coupled by an incompetent and corrupt Ghanaian government has made Ghana extremely vulnerable to foreign exploitation. When a country's government is riddled with corruption it is easy for foreign powers to support and encourage opposition against that government. Threats of exposure of corruption by individual government officials (foreign bank accounts etc) threats of sanctions and freezing of assets of individuals is usually enough to intimidate recalcitrant politicians and government officials into submission. Hence we see the Ghana government do a complete u-turn in its position regarding taking deadly IMF loans. THE SALUTARY LESSON HERE IS THIS: ANY GOVERNMENT RIDDLED WITH CORRUPTION IS VERY VULNERABLE TO COERCION AND MANIPULATION BY MALEVOLENT FOREIGN POWERS.CONVERSELY ONLY A GOVERNMENT MADE UP OF DEDICATED AND SCRUPULOUSLY HONEST INDIVIDUALS WITH A REAL LOVE FOR GHANA CAN WITHSTAND THESE DESTRUCTIVE MANIPULATIVE INTERVENTIONS FROM ABROAD
For those foolish enough to buy the IMF "stabilization" nonsense, including the "learned" Kwame Pianim I would recommend that they read the book by Perkins:
Confessions of an Economic Hit Man is a book written by John Perkins and published in 2004. It provides Perkins' account of his career with consulting firm Chas. T. Main in Boston. Before employment with the firm, he interviewed for a job with the National Security Agency (NSA). Perkins claims that this interview effectively constituted an independent screening which led to his subsequent hiring by Einar Greve,[1] a member of the firm (and alleged NSA liaison) to become a self-described "economic hit man".
According to Perkins, he began writing Confessions of an Economic Hit Man in the 1980s, but "threats or bribes always convinced [him] to stop."
According to his book, Perkins' function was to convince the political and financial leadership of underdeveloped countries to accept enormous development loans from institutions like the World Bank and USAID. Saddled with debts they could not hope to pay, those countries were forced to acquiesce to political pressure from the United States on a variety of issues. Perkins argues in his book that developing nations were effectively neutralized politically, had their wealth gaps driven wider and economies crippled in the long run. In this capacity Perkins recounts his meetings with some prominent individuals, including Graham Greene and Omar Torrijos. Perkins describes the role of an EHM as follows:
“
Economic hit men (EHMs) are highly paid professionals who cheat countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars. They funnel money from the World Bank, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and other foreign "aid" organizations into the coffers of huge corporations and the pockets of a few wealthy families who control the planet's natural resources. Their tools included fraudulent financial reports, rigged elections, payoffs, extortion, sex, and murder. They play a game as old as empire, but one that has taken on new and terrifying dimensions during this time of globalization.
”
The epilogue to the 2006 edition provides a rebuttal to the current move by the G8 nations to forgive Third World debt. Perkins charges that the proposed conditions for this debt forgiveness require countries to privatise their health, education, electric, water and other public services. Those countries would also have to discontinue subsidies and trade restrictions that support local business, but accept the continued subsidization of certain G8 businesses by the US and other G8 countries, and the erection of trade barriers on imports that threaten G8 industries.
In the book, Perkins repeatedly denies the existence of a "conspiracy." Instead, Perkins carefully discusses the role of corporatocracy.[2] – November 4, 2004 interview
“
I was initially recruited while I was in business school back in the late sixties by the National Security Agency, the nation’s largest and least understood spy organization; but ultimately I worked for private corporations. The first real economic hit man was back in the early 1950s, Kermit Roosevelt, Jr., the grandson of Teddy, who overthrew the government of Iran, a democratically elected government, Mossadegh’s government who was Time‘s magazine person of the year; and he was so successful at doing this without any bloodshed—well, there was a little bloodshed, but no military intervention, just spending millions of dollars and replaced Mossadegh with the Shah of Iran. At that point, we understood that this idea of economic hit man was an extremely good one. We didn’t have to worry about the threat of war with Russia when we did it this way. The problem with that was that Roosevelt was a C.I.A. agent. He was a government employee. Had he been caught, we would have been in a lot of trouble. It would have been very embarrassing. So, at that point, the decision was made to use organizations like the C.I.A. and the N.S.A. to recruit potential economic hit men like me and then send us to work for private consulting companies, engineering firms, construction companies, so that if we were caught, there would be no connection with the government
