Yes compared to developed countries it is behind but it is better than all the African countries combine, with the exception of perhaps SA and Libya pre al-Qaeda. If Cuba had gotten half the loans/grants from the world, it will be a gem. But even without and with an embargo, they managed to build their country and have a strong safety net. The have well educated and healthy citizens who can think. Unlike Ghana.

The Ghanaian mind is scientifically underveloped for modern management and industrial development. A people that only immitate European taste and religion will only bring scorn and disrespect. Cuba is a far more discipline people than than the backward minded leaders in Africa and Ghana. All Ghanaian leaders and administrators should spend time living in Cuba and China to see how these people think about leadership, management and study the mind and work habits of these people. Religion will not solve Ghana's problem but sound scietific thinking. Japan is a non christian but scientific and discipline people that makes Ghana and Africans an inferior thinhing people. IMF no solution but your own mind with scientific development of your people.

It is true that most state agency employees are very, very corrupt. It is a cancer that has enveloped most Ghanaians.

Why not recapitalize the ECG through the Ghanaian Stock Exchange and then maybe get a few expats to run the company on contract? Ghana Telecom was sold but it has not become any better.

The politicians are just corrupt to the marrow and is reflective of what transpires in government agencies.

ECG should have been sold long time because the workers and management are incompetent. How can you stay in business if you can not solve simple customer account problems and above all, bad revenue collection owed ECG for years? Do the managers understand the concept of "TIME VALUE OF MONEY? Customers will spend time and incur transportation costs to ECG but for months or even years managers can't solve simple problems. ECG's so-called Prepaid Meters suppose to improve its cash flows rather causing financial loss. You apply for a Meter and the staff give you hard time, many administrative bottlenecks to overcome.
I think it is wise to sell this non-performing corporation now.
