When NDC rules there is always chaos, witch-hunting, tribal jealousy, hardships, collapse of businesses, robbery, corruption and nothing goes right in the country. Where does the government want the people of Dokokyina village to go? It is their land. They have lived there for many many years. If the government want the land for some reason, the right thing to do is to find resettlement for them, but not just go and tell them to leave the land. And then latter destroy their houses. Are they not human beings? The court must handle this matter very serious.

Before one can sensibly comment on this case, I think is just logical to enquire how long these people had been living on the land. From all intents and purposes, I don't think the Regional Minister and all those cited are so callous as to inflict such injustice on these poor people as being alleged here. From the story it is obvious that none of the persons cited has any vested interest apart from protecting state property. It is also obvious from the story that the farmers were encroaching on the land, because apparently they were living in 'make-shift' plastic huts. If they had been living on the land for generations, their residence would have consisted of at least mud houses with the well-to-do owing brick or cement block houses. Any wonder that any time there is a case in Brong Ahafo involving the state and others, it's always Nana Obiri-Boahen who represents the other party against the state?.

You see, even in advanced democracies, law enforcement agents are clothe with a lot of discretionary powers to ensure peace, order, and good government! That is why even though the law allows freedom of movement,it also envisages the need to protect and defend vital national installations and assets!

I recall several notices/warnings directed at this Chief and the handful of the residents of his hamlet,who together with certain foreign nationals,were posing a serious threat to the operation of the Bui Dam,by carrying out illegal mining[galamsey] activities within the restricted areas around the $620 million-dollar project[$620]. I hope the judge will have the courage to throw the book at this 'country lawyer' and that stubborn village chief, by awarding a hefty court cost against them. I certainly remember the insolence and defiance of this chief in an interview he granted to one of the FM stations in that area. Can you believe that this was at the time the entire country was experience severe load-shedding, and the time was operating at its lowest capacity because of a significant drop in the water level. Incidentally, even the foreigners[scores of Ivorians and Bukinabes] voluntarily complied with the order to leave the area,but this chief was very adamant, and had to be forcibly ejected when the last grace period expired! This 'lawyer' was a Deputy Minister of Interior in the Kufour Administration;believe it or not! Having listened to this guy on numerous occasions, giving interviews to several radio stations,I would not be surprised to see him rushing off to court to to make motion before a judge to assert the right of a suspected Ebola patient to be allowed unrestricted entry into the country,simply because his client is a Ghanaian citizen,and should therefore be allowed into the country,even when all the risk factors are readily apparent!

It is one thing for a judge to cite BA Regional Minister and the others for contempt of court and another to see to it that each one of them is brought before you. Please, Honorable judge, let each one of them know and ingrained in their corrupt minds that no one is above the law of the land and that if it is established in a court of law, that their actions flattening the houses of certain people is deemed illegal acts, they will receive the fitting punishment for their horrible and inconsiderate and inhumane action against their fellow human beings that has rendered them homeless.
