  The constitution does not tackle specific issues relevant to Ghanaians.It is just a mere copy of the American"s constitution.It should be re-written to suit Ghanaians,it must be original and also reflect our own way of life.

  Even the Law of Moses.."thou shall NOT kill" didn't take into consideration...IN SELF DEFENCE or AN APPEAL COURT!!!!

  Mr Mcgoba said if the constitution is complete, there will be a vibrant legal system with less litigation in the country.
  
  He called for the creation of a National Security Council backed by the constitution with powers to investigate all people who abuse the legal system.

James Michener, in his book "Space" tells the story of how Kurt Godel, a famous Logician (Godel's Proof) detected logical inconsistencies in the USA constitution. Now, Godel was in a class of his own so he could see what most people could not see.
  Let us add amendments to the Ghanaian constitution to improve upon it regarding corrupt practices in government and society.

  One single codified book cannot solve unforeseen problems.For example,the British have a series of common Laws,covenants since 1215 that they use as their constitution.[Not one single book]It has served them well for the last 1099 years.So they always enact new laws when any problem crops up. The use of guns in America was relevant in 1770"s yet it is difficult to amend that section,when kids are killing their fellow kids with guns in the 21 century.We need something that is compatible with our own customs.The carbon copy of the USA constitution imposed on us in Ghana is moronic.The morons are the one"s who copied an alien values and dumped it on us.Don"t forget Lawyers,can eat sawdust without butter.

  Great thinking. But what is "original" ghanaian or african way to write a constitution? Is it about more parties, more pluralism, more self-governing of the regions? And wouldn´t create that the danger of a society falling apart, because there is not such a thing like a ghanaian nation, but dozens of nations within Ghana? At least you must answer the question: is democracy not the african way to govern? And if you answer this with yes: What are the alternatives? Democracy is a bad solution; but better than all others, i do believe.

  There is no Original Ghanaian way of writing a constitution,however,any constitution must reflect the wishes and the customs of the people within that realm.What is considered a crime in England is not necessarily a crime in Scotland.Iam not talking about murder or burglary.We have a lot of customary laws which have stood the test of time(land laws)yet are dumped for a completely alien American ones.Chief"s who dealt with simple cases are now ignored in favour of Europeanised court system which enriches Lawyers.I don"t care about ideology ...be it Communism OR Democracy..as long as it serves the wishes and aspirations of the majority of the people.Some are even contemplating Affirmative Action in Ghana without even thinking about why Americans have it in the first place.That said,you have impressed me with your wisdom.

  I think you are right in many points which you did mention. But for me is one point above all: that´s the freedom of the individuum. I don´t want to live in a state or public order, in which i can´t follow my own free will. That´s why i am saying, Democracy is the only political model i can accept by now. Communism leads to dictatorship, sooner or later. It´s a system which is based on uniformity, uniformity is the enemy of freedom. But: Socialism, Freedom and Democracy can be combined, and a way of "african socialism" has already been practiced (even that it wasn´t too successfull).
  Traditional aspects of the african society should be respected and mentioned, i totally agree with you. And more checks and balances would be helpful in a new constitution, too. But freedom must be the base of it. And respect for the opinion of the others; tolerance and the will to find consensus, especially in a society like in Ghana. Finding a national consensus; maybe through represantation of all main parties in government (relating to their strength in parliament). More Federalism could be another step. What i find terrifying is the way people are discussing issues these days - like in this chat-forum. That are no discussions, but battles of intolerance and hate. Let´s get back to facts, proposals and respect for other opinions.

That is one of the most ridiculous suggestions I have ever read regarding the work of the Constitutional Review Committee. This is a bad idea and should be ignored. National Security should be a matter for security experts and not legal experts. There are better forms of dealing with abuses within the legal system or abuse of office.

  Congrats Sir, this is a start. The constitution as it exist today was written by Rawlings and his murderous gang of bandits to promote their own wellbeing,indeminify themselves from 20 yrs of mayheim littered with the blood and bodies of people who committed offences far less than what his PNDC/NDC is perpertrating on the nation today. If we fail to enact a constitution written by thinkers, visionaries and true selfless patriots who have the good of the nation at heart, then we will keep twisting in the wind under the tumb of this NDC bandits. The results could be a nation trust into a civil war. And let me tell you, no body wins in a war. YOu may win a battle but you never win a war. Ask the Americans and see the casualties of the dead, injured and the maimed in thier wars, and you will understand when I say nobody wins a war. The NDC is a lawless party and is wrecking the nation.

  Life in Britain is of peace, integrity, investment, balancing inequality and poverty and development.
  
  Ghana Constitution as it is now full of flaws and veneered clauses is not respected by the people who created it.
  
  The Constitution ordains approval of Parliament for all valid transactions. But this is ignored, only to defraud the people.
  
  Ghana has a strong judiciary but lacks finance to support and sustain it. So the problem is not always Constitutional deficit.
