10m YES fund will go the same direction as GYEDA, SDA n SUBA. All these monies were given out prior to the 2012 election and were channeled to JDM presidential campaign leading to huge deficit. The result is the depreciation of the cedi from less than Ghs2 in Nov 2012 to now Ghs4 in August 2014. Inflation in Nov 2012 was 9% but 15.3% now in August 2014. The ship has sunk and the captain JDM must be changed come 2016.

My niece attended interview for an admission into Dunkwa Nursing Training College. She didn't receive any response after waiting for a long period of time. I followed it up with a phone call to one Mr. Acheampong who is in charge of the admissions. He told me plainly that I had to buy the admission for my niece and the cost is GHS3,000, in effect I have to pay a bribe of GHS3,000. I have refused to pay. My concern is that poor parents can no longer hope of 'pushing' their children beyond basic education. Oh Ghana.

The president's role in fighting corruption is limited to his cabinet ministers.He can minimize corruption by making judicious appointments and jettisoning any corrupt appointee.Because of the separation of powers,he cannot check corruption in parliament or of the Judiciary branch.
Otherwise,the onus of fighting corruption rests on the legislative body and law enforcement.
There is the need to rewrite the Criminal Code to reflect our deterrence or abhorrence of corrupt practices,encompassing severe penalties(long prison sentences and heavy restitution).Corruption cannot be fought with lip service.
Law enforcement personnel should be trained and motivated(attach them to the FBI and Scotland Yard).The court system must be made more efficient so cases can be handled quickly.Of course,not at the expense of justice.
The judges who are part and parcel of corruption should be weeded out from the Judiciary.
About bribery,won't it be a step worthy of emulation to ban gifts to public servants?
