When leaders of a society fail to think criminals take advantage of it,there is now total chaos in our education sector.Ghana's education is now treated like an economic product,to be precise like roasted groundnut and corn.

these figures are wrong. the figure you have for knust is just the academic faculty user fee. students have to pay an additional GHc3000-4000 for bench fee. And university of ghana is paying between GHc4300-12,000

Three former UK Prime Ministers, Edward Heath, Harold Wilson and Harold Macmillian died in quick successions. Thier funerals were nowhere near the time nad expensive funerals of the late PV Obeng and Alber Adu Boahen a failed Presidential candidate..

Educational management, teacher training, and curricula development tailored to our development in the 21st century must be part of the all embracing reforms.

There are several countries whose education systems can teach us a lot.

Ghanaians are greedy and selfish by nature, even the poor can be extremely atrocious. Secondly, Ghanaians like to bluff and show off wealth they acquire by any means. These private institutions that charge exorbitant fees are not doing so for the quality of education and life to offer, they just doing it on a competitive basis, to see who enrolls and makes the most money out of our pompous and arrogant class.
Naturally many will be coerced to find affordable ways to send their kids to some of these plush private schools, who's primary point of attraction is not the quality of education but the exotic architecture of the building and the rich kids gathering. As much as I abhor the practice, I too am a victim of this practice. I cannot say how best to resolve this problem, because as I indicated we are creatures of our ancestral genes...confused, lawless, indignant, and psychologically deficient.

Until we all come to terms with who were were and what we are today 100 years and nothing good is gonna come out of our grandkids and great grand kids.

95% of all our governing officials came from poor and lower class families, many of us struggled through school life to become what we are today. Life all mankind power corrupts and more power leads to arrogance and betrayal. This is what we are experiencing today. Quite frankly, inasmuch as I hate the NPP and their ideologies, I am beginning to think that akuffo Addo could very well be our savior. I could see Spio-Garbrah in the similar light. They were all brought up in upper class families in the 40's and 50's, if they are able to surround themselves with many of their colleagues of that era, we can make it. All our past leaders have just been poor village boys who escaped to Big City Accra, learnt the ways of the civilized life, with a little bit of small town education...boom ! POMP ARROGANCE and IRREPONSIBILITIES.

What a shame! We had free education under the GREAT Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah but, was overthrown by some greedy and selfish people..............

And here they are now, after 50 something years later use Osagyefo's vision as a campaign mantra? What a shame! Please come up with new ideas and stop the politics of opportunism and greed!

My only problem with Osagyefo not implementing an education system which also looked at all that I have outlined in my earlier response to this article. At least, he had free education on the table and was still sabotaged????

Filth, filth, filth everywhere in Accra, breeding cholera and then go to the EU to beg for money to fight the disease???????

And we talk about education and how expensive it is??????? Feeding our children with the wrong type of education? An education system which breeds IGNORANCE and has no bearing on challenging the minds of our children to apply their God-given COMMON SENSE???..........And we continue to refer to it as education????

Oh! Ghana! Oh! Africa! It's about time we woke up from our slumber and get real!!! We cannot continue to mimic others lifestyles and 'lingos' and hope to be like them one day..........

That will never happen until we find our own way of educating ourselves just as we did in the past to achieve the African Civilization we once had.
We need to look back and learn for the future............because the syndrome of chew, pour, pass and forget in a foreign lingo will NEVER work for us, PERIOD!!!!
