What do IMF Country Directors in Ghana take Ghanaians for, fools or what? How can this man claim that Ghana has strong governance systems and does he understand what is meant by strong government system? Ghana has a very weak governance system with indiscipline and lawlessness as the order of the day, which serves as manure for corruption. Strong governance systems would have checked the high level of corruption in government and other public institutions.

The same happened under the previous IMF Country Director in Ghana who praised the Kufuor government only for the same person to criticise policies of the Kufuor government when NDC came to power. What sort of hypocrisy is that?

Yes, Ghana's economy may be growing thanks to oil and service sectors but not through increased productivity. Again, what is the point in growth without development? What is the point in growth when it is not reflected in living standards of the citizenry? What is the point in growth when there is hyper inflation and falling living standards?

Please do not take Ghanaians for granted because they know what is happening.

And talking about the oil, how much money is the government receiving from the oil deal- didn't the previous government negotiated the oil deal for nothing? Did you see the improvement on the road sector since the NDC came to power? Can you see/feel the PRESENT safety of the country? Can’t you see and feel the presence of the law enforcement in the country now than before? What of the increase of the salaries? What do you think the government is using to achieve all these, stones? Is that not all money? I do not think the NDC is doing enough explanation and talk in these areas for Ghanaians to understand at all and allowing the NPP to throw dust on the eyes of Ghanaians for nothing!
Look, the NPP they said it from the beginning that they will make the country ungovernable for the president. The World Bank knows all that. The NPP can talk and make noise-crying wolf is a strategy NPP is using to make the country look worse than it really is. Suffering today is not any different from yesterday.
The only thing is during the NPP’s era we had too much illicit money in circulating in the country and the world's economy was good anyway so the trickledown effect was in effect. But it was in exchange for the country's safety! The NPP cannot do magic. They cannot do any better at the presence circumstances. Free flow of cocaine creating false economic boom is never the answer. Ghana is moving on and the whole world can see it. SAFETY AND PEACE HAS NO PRICE- NOT EVEN COCAINE CASH CAN PURCHASE THEM! Stop falling into these NPP crap and think holistic. remove politics from it. The world bank has factored in everything-the whole world's economic picture and the attitude of the opposition from day one, before coming into conclusion, OK?

The fact is that if the oil and service sector are taken out other sectors, especially manufacturing would probably fall because of the energy crisis. All the same, I appreciate that the report is over a ten year period and therefore the average is not a true reflection of the current economic mess.

Economic growth cannot be said to be economic development unless the citizens can feel it in their Pockets.

Given the fall in value of the cedi caused by Kufuor's government when four noughts were struck off it and artificially compared it to the dollar,what a foolish and unwise decision?.... there were repercussions to follow on from there. And the current inflation beyond the control of the current Government though this time not the absolute fault of Kronfuor even though single spine salary was forced on us by this thief.

So it follows on from here that though this Government had chalked Gargantuan Economic Growth, around 8-10% growth, we are still to feel it in our pockets and two things needed to be done.

By 2016, Mahama Government will likely stop the cedi from further collapse possibly increase cedi value through IMF policies of Austerity Measures, cut down on expenditure both Government and Public. Most importantly set inflation in a position where the psychological bit favours workers and the people in entirety.

Fast forward to the year 2014,.....and here we are with the World Bank singing sweet melodies of NOTHING to Ghanaians again? and NOTHING seems to have changed for the average Ghanaians........irrespective of the tall list of so-called development projects being supported by the IMF and the World Bank, here in Ghana.
The neocolonialists and imperialists have devised new strategies under the guise of ‘gobblerization’ (globalization), which allows the international corporate entities to monopolize our rich natural resources and finance capital, by means of direct ‘conditions’ and ‘policies’ set out by the World Bank and the IMF. These institutions were set up to protect the interests of the west and to continually destabilize our economy for their own good. That is why we continue to go with bowl in hand begging for aid. And in so doing, help to put stooges in leadership positions to help sell our country’s rich natural resources for their own personal gains, whilst our people remain in ABJECT POVERTY. (WHAT IS WRONG WITH US?)

These projects that we are made to believe have been, or are being supported by the World Bank can and could actually have been carried out by ourselves. And by that, I mean by Ghana itself, with selfless, serious, patriotic leaders with vision and prepared to generate funds from our own rich natural resources – who would not ‘kowtow’ to any external pressures.

Why do we always have foreign news agencies telling us how well Ghana has done and how well our economy is doing etc. with their support? Well, I guess Ghanaians can judge for themselves by carrying out a self check on their living conditions in Ghana, today!

If we were doing well, how come were still in poverty??? A middle income economy? Please ask yourselves, so why yet, another IMF bailout dosage…….for recovery??? When are we ever going to stop this cycle of stupidity????
GHANA is NOT a poor nation! But it’s rather a nation - full of wicked, selfish, greedy, unpatriotic, arrogant, vision-less, jealous and lying individuals placed in high positions, determined to run the ordinary citizens to the gutters of POVERTY for their own personal gains.

And in trying to achieve such evil feats, they drive the good and honest citizens of integrity to the ground; with their self-cultivated ‘evil-labeling’ of partisan politics. These evil citizens of Ghana are and will forever be in bed with the West to loot OUR CHILDREN dry of their rich natural resources.....basically their livelihood!

In my view point, Ghana needs to reverse towards a sort of self-reliance politico-economic policy, urging us to renounce to our preference of foreign products (food, clothes etc.). Ghana has excellent products appreciated worldwide & it's hard to understand why we squander a hell lot of foreign exchange to import what we have at home. The gov't must urgently put in measures to encourage& boost Ghana-made products' preference, which in the short or long run are apt to revamp our sliding cedi & revitalize our failing economy.

If there are no jobs, inflation is hyper, the currency is the worst performing in the world, government cannot pay its statutory payments and owes many workers groups in spite of all our resources including newly-exploited oil then Ghana must be doing well!
