The police should be protecting this person and not arresting them. 21 years is above the age of consent, and anyone is free to talk to anybdy and ask any question. if you dont like to be a sexual partner of this person you simply say, you are not interested. Unless the man has been forcing people, drugging them and raping them then he is behaving in a criminal manner and should be dealt with, but that is not the case.

I for one I hate polygamy, and my religious books support my position. The bible says fornicators and adulterers, and witchcraft should be stoned to death. So should we be implementing this? I wonder how many Ghanaian men would survive if such biblical directives were to be implemented in Ghana.

Ghanaians need to grow up and focus on solving poverty, lack of technological advancement, corrupt society, lack of political accountability, and perpetual mass ignorance.

Other people's sexual preferences are the least of problems, and in fact none of our business. But I understand that the majority of Ghanaians are illiterate and primitive in their mentality.

It was normal in ancient societies like Greece or the Roman Empire. The mayors of Paris and Berlin are gay. The former german foreign minister is gay. Wouldn´t a ghana politician didn´t speak with them because of their sexuality??? Also conservative catholic societies like Argentina and Chili did legalize gay marriage in recent time. It's also why I encourage my country to cut all aid to any country including Ghana who has criminalized people who are simply being who they are.

It's good to see some level headed people on this forum talking about tolerance and trying to bring some civility to this debate, and I would want to think that like everything else in life that not everyone in Ghana holds such homophobic views.

Lastly, there is this myth that Africans by culture are not or could not be gay. Here is the truth. Gay people have always been in Africa including Ghana, but they just did their business on the low.

The fact that you have a story like this in a country where homosexuality is criminalized should say to all that that these people who finds themselves to be gay are just being themselves.

Why? No one in the right minds would choose to be gay in such a society knowing that their lives and that of their families could be at risk.

Many Ghanaians need to learn the word TOLERANCE. Learn to be tolerant of others unlike you be they gay, from another tribe, country, or something else.

You cannot catch being gay like Ebola. You cannot become gay by being around a gay person. If you are straight, that's the way you were born, and nothing can change that as is the same with someone who was born gay.

Speaking of being born gay, something many homophobes disagree with, they will never understand that concept without education specifically having an understanding of human biology and genetics.

I suspect that much of the lack of tolerance in Ghana has to do with lack of education. I don't mean to insult the entire country of Ghana, but the truth is the more education you have, the less likely you are to be intolerant of anyone including gays.

I have met and have wonderful friends from Ghana. Indeed, one of my best friends from college was from Ghana...a hard working decent man who worked two jobs to pay for his education while going to school full time. Today he is a professor at a Western University.

I have never heard him talk negatively of anyone before including gays. Additionally, one of my very best friends today again is from Ghana...someone who has been a guest in my home, and the most decent of humans. Again, hard working with multiple jobs to complete their home in Ghana. He works tirelessly to take care of his family, and save money to send back to Ghana to finish his home.

I wish more Ghanaians were like these two men, who are decent in every way, and know what it means to be tolerant of others. And no, I'm not gay, so there is no need to tolerant of me. But I have observed both men and what they say, and I can safely say they could care less who is gay or straight.

The world is leaving you behind Ghana. Get with the program. Education, healthcare, corruption, your economy should be your focus if you want to move from the status of being a beggar nation to a first class economy. Embrace your differences and diversity sexual or otherwise, and you could become that fist class nation one day.
