This Twum Boafo is a complete idiot. What does he mean by theg secretly import more and they import high priced rice?

This Twum Boafo can operate very well in North Korea where the people eat and wear what the government tells them to do.

The importers are not in the market to sabotage the government but are in business to make money and will supply consumers what they demand. If consumers are not buying the high priced rice, the importers will not import that rice.

What is the meaning of secretly import? Are those secretly imported rice banned? Where do the Ndc party get these fools and entrust them with these very important positions?

Secretly import more? What is the meaning of that? Is this idiot saying they import more than needed by consumers of a product that can go bad and become useless and intentionally lose money? Does Twum Boafo has any brain in his head?

If people buy, and that the importers don't loose their investments then naturally there is still identified gap. As to whether the president's initiative can fill that gap and eliminate those importers is a question that may need an answer.

Unfortunately, no specific initiatives and how decisive they could stop rice importation were not mentioned in the article....shame!

Also, shame to all Ghana that upon our believe in God for blessings, in the mist of fertile lands we still can't make our brains farm simple rice to save us US$600m for us to spend on other things our brains are incapable of?

Shame again, if just half of a month's monies contributions in Christian churches are spent on Christian Rice Project to voluntarily feed those poor and hungry rice eaters, wouldn't food poverty which is a main issue in Ghana be reduced, save us Dollars and improve value of the cedi other than praying for God to intervene and subject the dollar under the cedi in Jesus Name we want?

How hollow the argument.Everything imported into Ghana passes through the seaports and the land borders.So the government can institute measures to control them.It is a case of failed import policy.

John Mahama loves the imports because of the duty as a source of revenue.The reason the import bill is high and our balance of payment is in a deficit and has sent the Cedi to near extinction.
