  This Lordina Foundation is laudable but my question is where does she get the funds to purchase the items? If it's state funds that is given to her, then I don't think it's anything special. To me, it would be like the state performing its routine responsibility.
  
  For it to be really worthwhile, she should seek funding from sources other than govt money. These could include corporate sponsorships and donations as well as support from international charitable agencies.
  
  In effect, if you take my own meagre money to buy me clothes for food that I would otherwise buy anyway, what difference have you made? But if you organize funds from some other source to buy me clothes or if you obtain clothes for me from some other source other than taking my own scanty money to buy them, then you have truly made a difference to my welfare!

  It's partly because of people like you, who will defend everything, even those inimical to the interest of the state that we are lacking behind in economic development.
  
  Why can't we be a little honest with ourselves regarding the true welfare and interest of Ghanaians? That is why they say every country gets the government it deserves.
  
  The donation itself is not a bad idea, but doesn't it smack of taxpayers' involvement to you? We hear of Bill Gates foundation, and people genuinely applaud him because they know he earned the money honestly. But Lordina foundation? Come on.
