  AS AN EX EMPLOYEE OF THE NATIONAL MUSEUM, IT IS SAD TO REALISE THAT, THE MODERN EXTENSION TO THE NATIONAL MUSEUM BUILDING HAS STILL NOT BEEN COMPLETED. IT IS WAS DESIGNED IN THE 1060'S, BY ITALIAN ARCHITECT PROF. MINNISI, FORMERLY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ROME. IT IS A FINE BUILDING, WITH AIRCONDITIONING AND A SIZABLE THEATER STYLE AUDITORIUM. THE GHANA GOVERNMENT SHOULD SEEK GRANTS AND LOANS FROM THE ITALIAN GOVERNMENT, TO BUILD IT, STARTING WITH TALKS WITH THE CULTURAL ATTACHE OF THE ITALIAN EMBASSY IN ACCRA. THE NEW BUILDING WILL ADD TO THE BEAUTY OF ACCRA AND GHANAIANS WILL FLOCK TO SEE THE EXHIBITS ABOUT THEIR HISTORY AND CULTURE, WITH A SPECTACULAR BUILDING.

  THE BUILDING IS SPECTACULAR. THE MODEL OF THE NEW BUILDING IS STILL IN THE OFFICE RECEPTION AREA OF THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OFFICES ON BARNES ROAD.

  Is it not a shame how our Governments, both NDC and NPP spend so much monies on Football and frivolous things, yet cannot find a dime to spend on something very important for our cultural well-being like Museums?
  
  How much have they spent on football in the past 10 years?
  
  How much has been spent on Museums and Libraries?
  
  The science Museum at Accra, Building works started in 1971, before General Acheampong is still not complete and has become a den for rats?
  
  Where are all the Leaders.
  The intellectuals have left town and the I***ts have taken over? How sad!
