The whole Lands Department needs thorough investigation by independent commission of enquiry.I bought a piece of land in Kumasi in 1986 and started the process of acquiring a lease. After paying all required fees i was every now and then made to pay bribes until I became fed up and refused to pay. One official became angry and wrote something on my application in red ink and told me my lease, had been complete and approved but would be revoked and I would never get it. To this day I have not got it. If from 1986 to date one lease has not been processed why have these lands dept officials been paid and continue to be paid for no work done? Don't they belong to jail and why are they not made to refund salaries received so far? This is one of the reasons why Ghana needs a revolution.

I had a problem with lands where the man received and signed for my documents from survey approached me for more money. I refused so my application was not processed, he said the documents were missing and he needed money to find it. Later it was discovered that he hid the documents therefore no bribe no land certificate. This was in the Accra office.

Is this the first time that the malicious and corrupt activities of the Land Registry have been exposed? All these activities have been going on for decades; present and past governments have ignored the theft and injustice at the Lands Commission whereby land, plot, or lot owners have been losing what they had legally acquired. The Police service, lawyers, judges, and the Land courts are all involved in these intricate designs of theft.
The government quite often falls a victim to these fraudsters-the Lands Commission, the Land Courts, Judges and lawyers etc. Whenever there is a litigation over a piece of land between the government and a Ga Traditional Chief, all these crooks connive and conspire to see to it that the former should lose the case for them to be able to acquire a big chunk of the land at stake for compensation and share the booty among themselves. The Lands commission should be one of the government establishments which should be targeted by well meaning demonstrations! These fat cats and crooks should be investigated, indicted, prosecuted, and put behind bars if found guilty-should be tried by incorruptible judges if any can be found at all in present Ghana. The Lands Commission is the head of the "snake" that must be cut off! It is a house of evil machinations! It is a house of evil deeds and has sown its evil seeds in all their offices over the country! May their evil intentions continue to "thrive" at the expense of legitimate land, plot, and lot owners.

She is one of the main enemies to the emancipation of Africans from mental slavery.
Hey Ama,most of the Chinese contractors who are building your roads can't speak one sentence of english properly,yet they have the requisite expertise to execute what your big english speaking PhDs and masters degree holders from Ghana can't.
Language means nothing,it's common sense and intellect that's important.

I think it's time we started the separation of all our administrative documents from region to region.The registration of land should not be made in one region alone. Ghanaians ,maybe you should come to America or go to Nigeria to learn about land management. As for the lands department they have been corrupt long time ago, leave the POLICE alone that they are corrupt.
