  If is not coal powered plants generating our electrical power, then other than hydro, what should be the alternative to the burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas? I see that you ignored the renewables such as solar and wind turbines. Was this deliberate or you doubt their viability in helping us solve our dumso-dumso problem.
  
  Mr. Hinneh, unquestionably Ghana's best option in generating enough power to feed our national grid lies in solar, wind farms, and waste-to-energy conversion systems. We need to hold conversations about the renewables.

  Here's a noble idea I mentioned a few week ago:
  
  The government can invest in power plants which use garbage as secondary fuel to generate steam in a boiler to power steam-driven power generators.
  
  All they think about is gas turbine power generators without even giving these garbage-as-fuel plants which can be considered as "klling-two-birds-with-one-stone" ventures a cursory glance.
  
  Four or six of such plants strategically placed around the country can take care of our garbage recycling issues while at the same time giving us the much needed power addition to our power grid.
  
  Such plants are also common in North America so if only our leaders can dig their heads out of their butts, they would see other alternatives that might help our situation.

But has anyone given real thought to how we may harness power from the sun and moon to produce clean, sustainable, solar energy?

  They are dumb but so desperate they will clutch at even straws and hope to survive. The Chinese don't care what they give us provided they get paid for their services. Coal energy is a source of sharp division between democrats and environmentalists on one hand and vulture capitalist republicans. Utah, a republican state, has probably the lowest air quality in the US because of high levels of pollution from its coal mines. We're needy but lets look before we take a leap into the unknown.
