  This so called professor is unlearned and stupid.
  The NPP petitioners asked the Supreme Court to ANNUL VOTES AND DECLARE AKUFO ADDO THE PRESIDENT INSTEAD OF PRESIDENT MAHAMA .
  The Supreme Court in their wisdom realized that elections are won by counting votes at the polling station and no where else.
  The people decided who should be their president but not errors on so called pink sheets which did not affect the thumb prints on the ballot papers.
  In an election we do not talk about technicalities but FACTS.
  WHO OBTAINED THE MOST VOTES?
  President MAHAMA obtained 5.5 million and Akufo Addo obtained 5.2 million. This is a fact that cannot be disputed.
  WHY DID THE NPP NOT ASK FOR A RE-COUNT OF THE BALLOT PAPERS AND DECIDED TO RELY ON ARITHMETICAL ERRORS ON PINK SHEETS TO DECLARE AKUFO ADO AS WINNER?

  It's unfortunate this professor described the SC ruling as "of dubious value". It is perfectly ok to disagree or agree with the SC decision but totally wrong and disrespectful to uSe such words to describe the judgement. Sometimes, some Ghanaian professionals and academics in the Diaspora believe that they know it all and are better than those in Ghana.
  
  The judgement was an indication that the SC was unwilling to deny the citizenry, their constitutional right to vote. That is why not a single Justice ordered outright annulment of votes as demanded by the petitioners. Even the minority four Justices who annulled some votes ordered re-voting in the affected areas. Assuming they were even in the majority, Nana Akufo-Addo still would not have been declared the outright winner but there would have been re-voting and since the areas affected were NDC stronghold, President Mahama would have still won the presidency. The final outcome would not have been different from the SC decision. In fact, the SC saved Ghana and the political parties some money and the tension that would have been caused by such re-voting. As far as Nana Akufo-Addo is concerned that would have been an exercise in futility.
  
  May I ask this professor if he was in the US in 2000 and does he recall the Al Gore versus George Bush SC ruling? If he describes Ghana's SC rulings as of dubious value, what did he describe that of the US SC in 2000, especially when it subsequently became known that not only did Al Gore win the electoral College but also the national vote as well?
  
  The fact still remains that the US SC rulings were more political and ideological than legal. In fact, Ghana's is even less political and ideological if the annulment and re-voting of the the minority Justices are taken into consideration.
  
  I interpret the Ghana SC ruling as better than the US because the Ghana SC safeguarded the right to vote whilst the US SC restricted the right to vote. Ghana's SC used the liberal democracy constitutional approach to interpreting constitutions, especially, on the rights bearing enjoyment. We should be careful not to use language that would discredit and weaken Ghanaian institutions.

  But if Nana manages to hang around for far too long after winning, Bawumia cannot wait till nature calls the old man: He will poison Nana! Bawumia's village is reputed for being the centre of poisoning. Everyone in the north knows them for using crocodile bile in eliminating their targets. They simply drop a little of the bile into the target's drink or food and the victim is a corpse in 5 hours after ingesting the stuff. Thus people avoid sitting near them.
  
  I am sure Nana is not aware of the danger he is exposed to. Thus a vote for Nana is a vote for Bawumia to take over.

Were you not a professor of the law during the court proceedings? Did you offer your expertise to the petitioners and their legal team?
  It is unfortunate politics make knowledgeable people turn puppets. I know your are paid for the presentation made and I am not surprised at your comments.
  Being a law professor is fundamentally different from being a judge of competent court of law just like being a medical educationist is different from Physician in practice. If you answer all the questions I asked above, then you will understand why the petitioners failed. They started thinking they knew better than anybody and you saw what happened. They had no evidence substantive enough to overturn the results of the election. You want to write another stolen verdict? Go ahead.

  First anniversary of "The election petition verdict"! It breaks my heart that the NDC is no longer the party of JJ Rawlings, but a party of appeasement. It shatters my heart that the NDC has no volunteers in social media, the press and everywhere else, respectively, to pelt, pillory and bitch-slap IMANI for being a political party in disguise. And who in that party will stand up and tell the NDC that 'God finds good people insufferably smug and self-satisfied.   Sometimes I wonder whether people really read and listen to issues with clarity. In reading the judgment, the Presiding judge reminded the parties of what the petitioners brought before them, six counts of what they called electoral malpractices and prayed the court to annul valid votes because of their 6 issues. The judges concluded that the petitioners case was not strong enough to annul the votes. The petitioners didn't ask these questions you have asked now, did they? And what stops you from filing a fresh case to seek answers for these questions that are bothering you Mr. Professor?
  
  I have heard others hail this judgment. What I have come to understand is that, people are always clouded with their political leanings and make comments. Why are we so insincere and intolerant? Why is it that some people always want to be the winners at all time? hmmmmmm

Did the supreme court have the relevant evidence at stake regarding the issues this so-called professor has raised? YES! Hence, we see here a brute echo of what one Ghanaian politician rightly claimed - that Ghanaian intellectuals are paid to talk, not to create. By the way, who made this arrogant man a professor?

  It has been a while, about a decade or less. Today he is addressed as professor. Could any one confirm that in reality he is a true professor or just because he teaches in America where I am told lecturers could be affectionately be addressed as professors?

  This constitutional law professor always facinates me on matters of constitutional law and principles.is he not aware of the doctrine of 'political question' which makes the courts reluctant to pronounce on or direct the other arms of government on matters best within their purview?how would this law professor expect a court of law to direct a constitutional body how it should conduct elections? What is the nature of the recommendations made by the Supreme Court to the EC,the so called Dotse JSC roadmap?Are they supposed to be orders or directions capable of enforcement ? Are they in the nature of 'speaking orders'?What is is the stature of this professor in constitutional jurisprudence ?Enough of this intellectual confusion.

  Is he a professor of law with only 5 publications; three Law Review Articles and two from book and chapter of book? That is what my search on him tells me. How many publications took him to senior lecture position and how many to professorial rank? From his biography on the web he has no PhD. Could a lecturer without a PhD become a professor in the US? Ghana used to do that but it is no more.

  Even the law school lecturer Prempeh has shown the residual effects of tribe and party loyalties on a Ghanaian mind. The Supreme Court of the United States of America where Dr. Prempeh practices his trade and skills to students has not been known to address anticipatory issues that may arise from a case before it. To go to Ghana and pretend the judges on Ghana's SC should have addressed issues that was not the overriding issue presented by the plaintiffs, NPP, in the 2012 saga is to show a lecturer with a whole lot of classroom smarts but lacking in basic principled existence. The NPP did not ask the courts to address the practices and procedures of the EC for future elections; they wanted an election victory they couldn't muster at the ballot but were delusional to believe they could achieve in court. Why not bring a legal filing to the courts of Ghana to improve the EC processes and while at it have them address the duplicity and complicity of government in the unreliable national ID and Ghana passport delivery and issuance? You would save us from ourselves if you so choose to help a sinking banana republic called Ghana.

  The Supreme Court verdict was a good lesson for all Ghanaian s, but for me it exposed the lawlessness and ignorance of some of our top judges. The unprofessional attitude of our military, lawyers, police, journalists and chiefs have been a large part of our problem since independence but now we know for a fact that some of the Supreme Court judges,more so Atuguba, have no integrity and professional manners so Ghana will wallow in crisis for a long time until there is a genuine revolution which will turn Ghana right side up, and sweet away the current leadership class.
