There cannot be an utopian society but the onus also rests on the religious leaders to speak against the socio political system when things are not going well. Ministers need not to sing the hymns politicians want to hear even if they are not good.

You still have not got it that all real ministers talk about things and issues in society that are not good, except the stomach ones. You wanted him to say KIA is as good as JFK or Hartsfield/Jackson which is the busiest in the world? Even the busiest airport is well maintained and kept clean.

Everything about life is about politics. To pretend that seeking the welfare of the people is not the job of a priest, can only be an aberration from a devious mind. Even if you complain about the quality of air we breath, what you want to say is that those politicians who we ourselves have entrusted to ensure that we have good quality air for our health and safety, are not doing their job good enough.

The priest has got every right to be worried about a subject which impinges on his moral and material well-being - as well as that of every other Ghanaian.

Priests are material (organic) entities and not spirits. To therefore deny them their material comforts and sensitivities runs against the very core principles of Christendom.

Priests are like each and every one of us, just that they chose to be priests instead of lawyers, carpenters (like Joseph), plumbers or seamstresses.

Denying Priests or leaders of other religious denominations is as undemocratically inane and ridiculous as denying Chiefs the right to comment or indulge in politics.

KIA indeed is a shame. It is an eyesore and it tells miserably about the country one is about to enter. Once you get pass through KIA nothing else you see in the country is a surprise. The filfth in the country, the attitude of the people in the country, the level of service in the country, the level of hygiene in the country, the corruption in the country - you meet all of those right at your first gate of entry into Ghana.

A visit to the Moroccan airport one can see the floor alone is a thing of beauty with smooth and shiny marble, but come to KIA and all you see is a cheap Chinese tiles with cracks in them but alas cost million times more that what it should have cost.

That brings me to wonder if he the Priest has considered what his congregation gets in return for the dues (tithes) that they pay to their various churches.

My take on this is that apart from being led by their noses into stark poverty, the Christian congregation gets precious little in return for all the support they give to their churches.

Another point also is that, is that Priest sincere about the criticism he is making about the KIA? Can any of their churches, some of which are over a hundred years old in Ghana, compare to the admittedly bad hospitality standards prevailing at the KIA?

What happened to all the wealth that the Christian church earned from the unprecedented crimes of slavery, colonialism and mineral resources that was surreptitiously siphoned away to their Kings and Queens in Europe to develop their countries and their airports?

As we speak, some of these so-called orthodox churches in Ghana own more land than the govt of Ghana itself. Yet, they continue to extort and grab the little monies that miserably deprived people who live in kiosks and on the streets, are manipulated to give to them. Reverend, Professor, Moderator Martey, is this right?

I was shocked when I visited home in 2012 and my brother-in-law took me to Mamprobi, Lartebiokoshie, Chorkor, Alajo, Maamobi, Newtown and other areas they call Accra suburbs. I could n't control the offensive smell in most of these "suburbs". Honestly, it will be difficult for a Ghanaian living in Southern part of Africa (not Europe or North America)especially S/A, Namibia & Botswana to boldly take a friend to visit Ghana, especially Accra. Even the so-called East Legons are gradually turning into something else.
Now, the question is what is AMA, KMA, STMA doing about the filth which poses a serious health hazard to the population? Are the engineers and Planners planners getting paid? But the citizens also need education- you can't just lower your pants and sh** anywhere (Odaw river,or at the beach) or you don't just throw litter anywhere. I was seriously embarassed when a colleague at work showed me a story from their local newspapers a couple of weeks ago about cholera outbreak in some parts of Ghana, killing dozens of people. The question he asked me was- " So cholera is still affecting your country..., why is West Africa plagued by so many dangerous diseases, ebola, malaria, polio"--- I was quiet. The fact is West Africa have serious challenges in terms of environmental sanitation. This is a challenge to our leaders. We need a healthy workforce to power the nation to development and it starts with cleaniless. Cleanliness is next to godliness. Ma ka aa maka! Ka ne wu!

However, I implore the Venerable Professor to take a trip to Is it Nungua or Teshie to have a casual look at the Head Quarters of JEHOVA WITNESS (JW) and get back to his own HQ in Accra Central. If you travel through KIA to other airports, you can easily tell the difference between international airport in Ghana and others around the world.

Whether the KIA is "trashy" or not we are okay with it! How many Ghanaians have the means to travel thru KIA??? It's true this Airport is not an international Airport, you can in suit me if you like . Our leaders like comparing things to UK, USA, EUROPE , South Africa , etc.BUT when it comes to doing things they do there, that is when the difference comes in.
Today as am writing, in South Africa FUEL PRICES ARE BEING REDUCE. This is the second time since last month up to date.
So when the PRICE is increased nobody complain, but in Ghana when the world price is increased the leaders jump to increase it, but when the same world price of fuel goes down they keep quiet for it to stay there, so that they can cheat their own citizens, how sad it is.
About the Airport , if you have travel by air, outside the country to other countries before you will AGREE with the Presbyterian moderator about what he is saying. Putting aside your political affiliations aside . Go to South Africa not to their capital city, go to second, third, fourth cities you will see you can't compare our so call international Airport to those ones there . Our Airport where they subject you to humiliation by letting you take off you shoes and even you socks in the name of terrorism. Because US is doing it . shame on you.
