The economy is hitting workers hard and many are looking for ways to balance the family budget.

Oh yes! We all know about the depreciation of the cedi but was VRA, GRIDCO and almighty ECG doing any better when the cedi was stable? The answer is a big NO! Stop covering the main problem by blaming it on the fall of the cedi to cash in. The fact is that all the moneys collected are shared outright amongst your staffers in the name of salaries and allowances. It is in the public know that VRA staff turned down a hundred percent increment in salary last year while their request for tariff increases were still under consideration at PURC. I dont think it will make any difference if you guys shut down your plants. Ghanaians are now more used to darkness than light.

And therefore the 'welfare factor' in these services provision should not 'offered' on the alters of stupid and untimely decisions of incompetent policy makers and managers.

When would these inflation, forex issues, equipment cost, etc peter out for suffering Ghanaians to live on? Maybe forever would be best bet, isn't it? All these Cedi nonsense must stop. Akosombo, Bui, Aboadze, etc started not today, come blame Cedi for policy makers & managers failures such as we see in this country where blames earn better wages than any other job. Cedi fall caused by who? Not the same Mr BLAME who does nothing but paid 60% of GDP? Why wouldn't serve Mr Blame right if the 40% GDP leftover is spent to slaughter him and all accomplice for burial?

I have noticed that Ghanaian public officials like to enjoy the best of vehicles and perks but their delivery of service is always below mediocre.
This observation starts with the president himself.

Since when did your operation cost became consumer cost? if you buy useless equipment and does not invest in proper engineering hence the power supply challenges, why should you pass on your incompetence to your consumers? It looks like there is no proper engineering going on all they do is to buy expensive systems and bring in installers from abroad to install. Their work as engineers is just to operate this machines, they even can not fix problems when it breaks down. yet they call themselves engineers of utility companies. So what are we paying for?

Why are these utility providers always asking for upward revision of their rates but they do not talk of improvements they have made to the provision of their services.

It is better their services are sold to the private sector for services. Take a look at the telecom industry? With the sale of Ghana Telecom, there is now an improvements in this sector of the economy.
