How many businesses have gone under due to high cost of power as production resource. Tomatoes must be processed in large quantities for export but they rot on farms. Its time the white man came back.

Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah took measures to solve the problems you have mentioned but when he was overthrown the whiteman told Afrifa and Busia to stop implementing those measures and they agreed.They left all the factories Osagyefo started to rot and now we import whatever can be produced in the country.The whiteman you want to return to Ghana will rather sabotage our development as they did when they were colonising us.The whiteman is never interested in our development.Remember what Obama told us when he was in Ghana.He told us plainly that the development of Ghana is the responsibility of Ghanaians and this is absolutely true.No matter how severe our problems are we do not need the whiteman back.He underdeveloped us and we had to chase him out of the country.

Government is not responsible for creating and managing factories they only provide and ensure that the infrastructure stays optimal. That was Nkrumah's mistake believing in the socialist/communist system that never works. The government enterprises created by Nkrumah were dying even before he was overthrown. Nkrumah was already begging for Western loans to keep his development and economy going -- get your facts straight. Mahama can visit all he wants but if he does not strengthen the current infrastructure the made in Ghana promotion will go no where.

There is no government in Africa that does not depend on foreign assistance to survive and with regard to Osagyefo going to the West for loans i am sure Osagyefo would never have gone to them for loans if there were alternatives.The West intentionally sabotaged the economy of Ghana by drastically reducing the world price for cocoa which was Ghana's main foreign exchange earner.This was part of the West's numerous attempts to undermine the CPP government of Osagyefo which the colonialists hated so much. The West has never wanted Ghana and other african nations to industrialize and still regard Ghana and other african nations as sources for raw materials and lucrative markets for their manufactured goods.To make matters worse for Ghana after the 1966 coup the IMF and the World Bank told the NLC government of Afrifa that it would be cheaper for Ghana to import manufactured goods than to have them manufactured in Ghana and called for a drastic review of the industrialisation policy of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.Afrifa's NLC government accepted the view expressed by the IMF and the World Bank and discouraged the functioning of all the factories established by Osagyefo.The result is what we have now-Ghana importing what it can produce locally,a weak economy and massive unemployment.

My fathers came to the South to work as latrine carries and gutter workers. The freedom fighters of Gold Coast reversed the trend by making education free for my own people. Today, the Northern Region has produced ground breaking individuals who matter most to Ghana. Yet I embarrassed my people by going back to the latrine and gutter job. Even though I pay for technology to deal with it, I feel I still have to do it with my hands like my forefathers. So who am I?
