That's on the face of it. But who knows, whether the Prof authored the book out of malice or as he puts it from pure academic point of view? What matters most is no one under the sun can undo the sets of records they chalk in the pages of life each day. By hindsight one would surely regret some actions and inactions. But that's life and Jerry Rawlings must be advised by his lawyers to come to terms with it. It's the sole reason why leaders in particular must endeavour to rule with justice, respect for human lives devoid of brutalities and demeaning of lives of other humans! That's why they must watch it not to yield to temptations to be corrupt or allow corruption to flourish under their watch!

It could soundly be resume of Jerry's 19 year-rule pure and unadulterated. Let the public and posterity be the judge. Or if Jerry can't stand the heat of truth he must go ahead to prove the facts in the book wrong in the courts of law!

Look, people have written books about American presidents such as Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and the latest Barack Obama; none of them went to court to stop its publication. Some of the writers were appointees named by presidents above but their books were critical of their bosses. Ghanaian's should think before the enter the public sphere to take over any position in government. Your life will always be under the microscope as pubic figure until you expire. Even when you shit it shall be reported. I see no reason why Mr. Intelligent will go to court to stop the publication of a simple book. It is selfish for him to demand "only" the good things for himself when the whole world knows what happened in 1979. We have not forgotten the "3y3 haan, 3y3 kanea" and all the unnecessary ass-kicking as well as stripping women naked in public by his sycophants. All of that is a blemish in the history of our country and must be told. The history of apartheid, slavery, as well the holocaust has been told time and time again and no one has stopped the publication of any material from such events let alone making of a documentary from them. Not satisfied with the blood of three former military Heads of state and others, Rawlings then ousted a democratically elected government and continue his killing spree, this time turning his attention on the judiciary and murdering three judges of the supreme court, as well as other citizens who lived their lives under a democratic dispensation.
Rawlings should not think that his eight year rule of terror under the banner of the (P)NDC was an evolution of any sort. We would not even want to refer his murderous reign before 1992 as a revolution, let alone an evolution - it was criminal inhuman dictatorship!
The indemnity clauses Rawlings inserted into our constitution shows clearly that Rawlings himself believed he had never practiced any democracy for the entire 19 years he had ruled Ghana. Democracy is never a government for one person - it is a government for the people. The country is in economic and social crisis now all because of Rawlings and his family's criminal stewardship. Did he not 'sell' government property to his wife? Have they been able to tell the people of Ghana who exactly it was who they claimed payed for their children's education overseas when they crumbled the country's own educational system? Is he not still living in affluence because of the billions they stole from the country's coffers when they were in power?
One day, he will swallow his own tongue when he comes out to accuse others of corruption when he and his family have been the most corrupt first family of the nation these past 50 years!

Poison Ghana's historical records? What exactly does that mean. If anything at all it will be readers and reviewers of the book to judge. Mr Rawlings cannot stop publication of a book because he feels or thinks some well would be "poisoned". An algae infested swamp may be poisoned for the purposes of poisoning the algae and leaving the water wholesome.

His name and his family to be brought into disrepute? Well according to him only a "potential" exists. That should not be grounds for banning a book bearing in mind he has had the manuscripts for well over two years. Mr Rawlings needs to get a life. He has become too sanctimonious.

That's on the face of it. But who knows, whether the Prof authored the book out of malice or as he puts it from pure academic point of view? What matters most is no one under the sun can undo the sets of records they chalk in the pages of life each day. By hindsight one would surely regret some actions and inactions. But that's life and Jerry Rawlings must be advised by his lawyers to come to terms with it. It's the sole reason why leaders in particular must endeavour to rule with justice, respect for human lives devoid of brutalities and demeaning of lives of other humans! That's why they must watch it not to yield to temptations to be corrupt or allow corruption to flourish under their watch!

It could soundly be resume of Jerry's 19 year-rule pure and unadulterated. Let the public and posterity be the judge. Or if Jerry can't stand the heat of truth he must go ahead to prove the facts in the book wrong in the courts of law!
