Mahama and the NDC have made our schools for only the rich. It is very sad these days, electricity prices are going up, water prices are going up. Our Cedi is going down and Ghana must ask the obvious, why Mahama and his NDC cohorts?

Maame Abena, what Nhyira needs now is someone to provide her with sensible and constructive advice not play politics with her future. How will all that u wrote about provide response to her situation? if u have no contribution to make, please no one is forcing u to do so. Just don't write anything. Nhyira needs solutions. we are all aware that times are challenging. by the way education systems don't collapse in 5-10 yrs time. it takes longer than that. Our system started falling apart since the overthrow of Nkrumah. All subsequent governments failed to improve quality, puncto.

Aluta, God richly bless you. People like Mame Abena are paid to write anything foolish against NDC even if you ask them to come for gold. Like the leader like the followers. Dury Akuffo Addo's campaign, every questioned asked will end up with free SHS. We have more blockheads in NPP than the general populace.

You may get a job at Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) if you pursue a degree in sociology. On the other hand, if you do not go to university and try to become an entrepreneur you may not succeed because the scanty knowledge you acquired in the SHS will not be sufficient to back you up. Your best bet is to go to the university and study something better in the Science, Engineering, Math, & Technology (STEM) field and you will either become employed with great salary or become a better entrepreneur, such as in a software developing business.

Three guys begin work at a toothbrush company as salesmen. Each day, two of the guys sell twenty toothbrushes each, and the third guy consistently sells two hundred. The other two guys are jealous, but they can't figure out his secret. Then, one day, they run into him at the mall, where he's set up a tobacco dip sample table.
"This is your secret?" says the first guy.
"Try some dip," says the third. They both take a little bit o' dip.
"Ech!" says the second guy. "This tastes like s**t!"
"It is s**t. Would you like to buy a toothbrush?

Nhyira, I will suggest that you don't rush to the university for any course. Wait and seek admission for a course that will provide you a job immediately you graduate. My son waited for 2 years until he got admission to pursue Bachelor's in Nursing. He listened to me even when his mother was thinking otherwise. Most courses at the universities cannot secure you a job even here in the US. Some people go to the university just for pride because her/his friends are going. If you do that you will end up having no job and people like maame abena the NPP stooge will blame it on the government. Unless you are going to Cape vars where it is about education. Don't rush but think about it and seek advice from an intellectual. I am a psychologist and this is the advice I gave to my son who is currently in his second year.

University education is not a do or die affair. Nhyira, if your mother doesn't have the where withal to send you to school find something doing. Who knows whether in so doing you may discover your talent. Don't be deceived, a lot of those walking about displaying their wealth and claiming they got it through education may be fake since evidence abounds that a lot of them belong to secret societies and practice occultism. That is why they steal public money without fear.

University of London and other Universities provide such post graduate entrepreneur education and training degree programmes.
Nhyira and other university graduates could consider such MBA entrepreneur education and training degrees.

A degree enhances your analytical skill sets. Having a degree is not enough but applying what you have learnt from your university education to better yourself and help humanity should be paramount. You need a degree to make you a critical thinker and compete independently. There is always a misplaced priority- people assumed that once you finished university you should automatically get a government job and loot the state. Until this notion or mentality is deconstructed by our system- by enforcing a learning methodology which embodies the apllication of both theory and practice, Ghana will not spew out young entrepreneurs capable of transforming our economic system. My advise to you - still go to the university and educate yourself.

What most educated Ghanaian don't know is that people with all levels of academic qualifications makes the Country. Therefore a cross section of all shades of workers are needed to move the nation forward in a Country where the leadership and Citizenry alike are determined to become an industrial nation. Again, with most people coming out of School with Uni or College(I don't mean Adisadel or Prempeh college)level academic degrees,a Association like UGAG does not make Sense to me,especially if they lobby the gov't for non-existence white-collar jobs.
All need to be employed to move the Country forward, and not only a Uni degree holder.
A good for nothing Associated/Association indeed ! Anyway.
