  During the drought of 1977 that caused massive hunger due to crop failure, the international organization I worked for teamed up with Govt. to deliver needed drugs and dietary supplements to affected area in the northern half of Ghana. Emergency supplies were airlifted for distribution around the country. A high-potency Vitamin A medicine was provided as well as oral-rehydration salts in sachets plus palm oil which were shipped to the north to control both the deficiency and the outbreak of cholera which ensued.
