Money aside, the internal squabbling leading to those unnecessary elections will lead to further divisive antagonisms, acrimony and worse-still, a greater loss of image for whoever wins in the end as flag-bearer as well as the Party as a whole.

The collateral effect of all this will inevitably affect not only the chances of the elected flag-bearer but even the chances of parliamentary candidates as well in the 2016 elections. Any politician who wants to go through this exercise in futility and loss, needs his or her head examined.

Have you not noticed how the NDC has shamelessly taken sides with and for the Kyeremateng campaign? Why do you think that is so? If you think that they think that Kyeremateng is a better candidate to become President in place of Mahama, then think again.

In any case, constitutions, laws and democracy, whichever way you look at it or understand it, were made for the convenience of man and not the other way round. If by the incidence of time and events aspects of constitutions become dated, irrelevant or obstructive to the cause of man, well then so be it.

At such a critical moment, man must then, by mutual consensus, find a way around any arising difficulty. The world does not wait for people who wait for things to happen. The world moves steadily along with people who make things happen. We should keep this in the back of our minds in anything that we do.

For your additional information, the western democracy that we practice with all the foolhardiness at our disposal, is a luxury which we cannot, in all truth, principle and honesty, afford. It is the core reason of the monumental corruption arising in developing societies. Political Parties in developing countries can inexplicably conjure anything from $5 million to $500 million from nowhere to finance their campaign for elections, but upon winning and becoming the govt in power, they cannot find even $10 million to invest into the national health, energy and education sectors of their countries.

2. A Crook and a Criminal:

Sadly, you, Otoo, provide no evidence. In fact, the evidence makes your claim laughable. This is a man who, unlike many politicians in both the NDC and NPP, including Kufuor, Mills and Mahama, turned down opportunities to buy government property; who refused to stay in a government-provided bungalow; who when on official business abroad rejected per diems and paid for hotel bills from his own money.

Please, get me this fake, criminal lawyer any day. The guy was so good in his fakery that even Justice Kpegah once praised him in court for his brilliance. Ironically, it is this same Kpegah who recently claimed that Nana Addo is a fake lawyer because he impersonated one William Addo Danquah Akufo Addo.

On the day when Kpegah was expected to prove his case court in what he promised to be Thrilla in Manila, not only did he go into hiding, forcing the judge to give judgement in his absence, he subsequently remerged granting interviews on several radio stations making the even more ridiculous claim that Nana Addo murdered William in order to cover up the impersonation.

That the NDC got involved in this whole affair was even more bizarre. Just before the 2012 elections the same NDC had told us that Nana Addo was the Willam Akufo Addo who abandoned his studies at Oxford under bizarre circumstances.

How can the NDC claim in one instance that Nana Addo is the young William who dropped out of Oxford, then claim in another instance that he impersonated William? Only demented people can come up with such stupidity propaganda.

So, Mr. Otoo, you see, not only are your accusations baseless, they also arise from a demented mind. I'm sorry for you!

In this sense, you've got to give it to Alan and his team. They're not taking anything for granted. They're even garnishing up Alan's record. The other day I heard an Alan campaign team member claiming that Alan is the best candidate because Ghana needs a businessman, not a lawyer; that throughout his life Alan has been creating and managing businesses.

Ignore the fact that Alan himself is also lawyer. The Alan team has a simple and easily understood message.
Alan himself constantly references his work with Empretec to bolster this perception. Yet, Alan was has been no more than a facilitator.

No doubt, Alan is a business policy wonk. However, Nana Addo is, in fact, the one who has actually created and owned businesses. He also facilitated the telecoms revolution we're enjoying today. Remember 'megyina abonten na meekasa yi'?

Instead of focusing on these more practical contributions, his handlers only talk of Nana's sacrifice and loyalty to party and country. What does that even mean? Does loyalty and sacrifice say anything about Nana's intention to bring about structural transformation of the economy?

Not surprisingly, the NDC quickly defines the phrase 'sacrifice and loyalty' for us by pointing to Nana's record of leading demonstrations and then using same to back their own claims that the man is a violent rabble rouser. Nana needs a better communication strategy.

Establishing a Law firm does not mean you are a lawyer. A law firm is just like any business. A non lawyer can establish a law firm and employ lawyers to work for him. In the same way anyone can open a clinic or hospital and employ Doctors to work for him. Nana is just a CRIMINAL because he goes around calling himself a lawyer when he is not. What prevents Nana from producing a copy of his so called missing law certificate. Why is Nana saying his certificate is missing. The Vice President, Mr Amissah Arthur went and collected his masters degree from the University of Ghana when the NPP media were going around sayingbhe did not have a masters degree in economics. But the NPP can still win the Majority in Parliament, and need not worry about the albatross of Akufo-Addo's violent, divisive traits brandished in its face, if loses the Presidential bid for the third time.

The best bet is for the NPP to stick to their own policy till the end of the exercises. Changing rules now will mar their democratic credentials and brew feelings of unfinished business by those called upon to drop out before the final contest. That could cause disunity in the end.

Let the game roll on till the end. The winner will truly feel proud he's indeed the man of the people and the unelected agree and accept decision of the people. The winner would then have a huge potential of amassing significant support from all corners.
