Let me remind all the NPP members the argument Nana Akufo-Addo made at the party’s Congress in Sunyani in 1998 in his opposition to giving candidate John Agyekum Kufuor the second chance after losing to Rawlings in 1996. Here was Nana Akufo: “I call on members of the party [NPP] to embrace change in leadership of the party. Such changes are far from harming the fortunes of the party. Change improves the chances of political parties as a new face eventually means new ideas, new methods and new strategies…any candidate elected as the NPP's flag-bearer has already secured 30% of the total valid votes. Failure to garner the remaining 20% plus 1 means the candidate has failed, and therefore must be changed” (ref: Ghana Daily Graphic, October 8, 1998). If John Kufuor back then did not deserve to be nominated for the second consecutive time, why is it okay now for Nana Akufo-Addo to seek the party’s nomination the third consecutive time, having led NPP to two painful electoral defeats in 2008 and 2012? Well, it seems like Nana Akufo-Addo is getting ready to take NPP to the electoral slaughterhouse in 2016 all over again. Let the self-denials ignore the warnings

I am not sure why the focus on a national airline when we need to build/revamp our infrastructure? I agree with KD that we need to build our roads and have a good railway system (among other things) in place before we try to tackle the airline problem. Anything with "National" attached to it does not work because our government does not manage anything well, they would find a way to mess it up as long as they have shares in it, even if not directly managing it. It would soon become "tro tro"for politicians, government officials, cronies, friends and family -- without paying full fare/fees. Unfortunately that is how we operate "national" enterprises.

This is not true Mr. President as Malaysia Airlines is losing billions of dollars, and that's is a reputable airline granted the two mishap that might have run the loss into billions instead of millions. Other reputable airlines are losing money as well.
Mr. President, I believe your priority should be dealing first and foremost with the economic issues, then eradicating cholera and ensuring Ebola never get into the nation. Dreaming of starting an airline should be left with the private sector. We have great airlines serving our nation and until our immediate issues are not resolved, we should not be thinking of diverting our resources elsewhere. GROW UP MR. PRESIDENT, AND THINK OF THE PEOPLE OF GHANA AND NOT MONEY COMING INTO YOUR POCKET.

Another of his strange ideas is to build an international airport at Tamale. One wonders who at all it is who is advising this our President?

I also suspect that he is bringing up all these funny ideas only for the wrong reason of making some illegal money on the side for the 2016 elections.

These are the kinds of stupid things that they did prior to the last elections which brought the economy of this country down to its knees and it seems that they have still not learnt their lessons.

African leaders don't get their priorities right and that is why we are always in financial and social problems. He is trying to create another chop chop situation for cronies and the huge bill will be bone by the suffering Ghanaian on the street. Just think in respect of priorities, roads, railways and airline, with our limited resources which one needs immediate attention. Which of these will serve more people and benefit the economy. If we have to invest in transportation at this moment (which we have) airlines should not be our priority, unless we are considering an area which will be easy to cut corners and skim off some commission into private accounts. Our roads have become death traps and there is an urgent need for railways. There is no urgency about airlines, rather we need to rebuild and update our airports. Let us consult with the people and work in their interest and stop imposing bogus policies and wasteful programs on the nation.
