On the right spot Obaa! I have always said that IMF directives would end us in more problems and debts eventually because that's how this institution lives on. IMF would not make money if Ghana is made better. Their only solution would be to downsize but Ghana's problem is over that.

IMF solution would not reverse Ghana from over-dependency on imports to boosting local production and consumption which has been the major cause of Ghana's economic woes. Their main point of call for dealing with third world countries is one-sided telling our 'bush' governments what to do to cut cost and generate revenues from taxes without actually directing in private sector policies which poor countries do need as driving force for economic change.

Due to the ebola scared, I pray to Ghana Police to order all “four seated trotro”, like the sprinter buses and 207 buses to be reduced to “three seated” instead of four because medical research indicated that ebola can be infected through body sweat. I had an experience with the body sweat in a sprinter bus just from Medina to Circle, a thirty minutes drive; a passenger sitting beside me got my entire side of my hips seriously wet due to his body temperature. The sitting capacity in these buses are poor to the extent that passengers are squeezed into these seats which brings about serious body contact, therefore if ebola has appeared in Ghana the sitting capacity of our transport system alone can easily transmit the disease to so many people within a short period in Ghana. What is your opinion?

Given Dr. Botchwey's track record there are high hopes there could be a U-turn for the ailing economy. At least on the basis of his experience in practical economics. But some sort of pessimism lurks somewhere deep in the hearts of millions of Ghanaians who lived the long term of PNDC rule when Dr. Botchwey presided over the nation's economy. Yes brakes were aplied on the downward spiralling of the economy in the 90s but sadly no real U-turn was visibly made after enduring the harsh Economic Recovery Programme with all its attendant screeching conditions.

Shall Dr. Botchwey II cum IMF II salvage the economy?

I can only be optimistic for a respite for the economy.

Then came K4 to sell us off to the IMF too.

The day GHANAIANS realize that these lot are just agents and stooges of the West......we will be back in slavery.

These lot, including Sam Jonah play with Ghanaians, to the detriment of our children's future. They are rewarded with their families for keeping Ghanaians POOR! Even though we are literally sitting on some of the richest resources, some other nations they are working for......would kill for.

What is the difference between Kwesi Botchwey and Terkper when it comes to managing the Economy? In his longtime in office as Finance Minister,what did he do that Terkper can`t do?Terkper will go down in history as the man whose time the Cedi depriciated more than 40% within six months,and Botchwey is the man who mismanaged Ghana`s economy leading us into HIPC.

Ghanaians are only interested in degrees and titles. If you're a Dr. or Prof and you're given a position of responsibility to use your knowledge to transform the lives of people and you fail miserably, what then is the relevance of your degree or title? That's the dilema of Ghana. My illiterate cocoa farmer in the village can be a better economist than some of these white elephants. Do we want them to completely destroy our economy before we realize they are useless?
