Filth on its own cannot cause cholera. Cholera is caused by poor hygienic practices and in our cases, it arises due to people's inability to access good food and clean drinking. The root cause or the fuel to the outbreak in our case is the economy and not filth. If you take away the filth and people can't access good food and they are forced buy the contaminated ones because of hunger or poor quality control and food safety standards being done by the Ghana standards board and FDB, the MAs and what-not then they would they will acquire it

As usual the feeble-minded lazily refuse to think deeply and resort to blaming government for everything. When will citizens learn to take responsibility for their own actions? When will you guys learn that urinating and defaecating in public places, throwing rubbish in drainage systems and clogging them up as a result are the main causes of outbreaks like this? Does it have to take government intervention for people to understand that doing these things causes them harm? Why can't we learn to be responsible citizens? What if we turned the tables and introduce a police state where everyone is watched, arrested and made to face severe punishment for even spitting on the street? Would you not be the same people accusing government of being excessive? Where do we draw the line? Starting from the writer of this article, I encourage you to make a personal commitment to never spit, urinate or defaecate in inappropriate places and also make a commitment to personally educate everyone in your household and your immediate neighbours and encourage all of them to do the same. Also commit to keeping your home and its environs tidy at all times and practise simple personal hygiene and see whether these outbreaks are controlled or not. We must all take responsibility for our own actions and be honest to ourselves and stop blaming government for every little thing that goes wrong in society. That is cheap politics and it beggars belief that people who should know better are even threatening to sue government over something that is a failure on the part of society in general. What will suing the government achieve? Will it bring back the dead? Will it stem the current outbreak? Will it make the plaintiff richer or help them score cheap political points? The jury is out on this.

They are always cleaner than Accra the capital where i live.

A gutter take a day or mins to block. So nobody goes around to see if these gutters are block or not. If the govt or council dont want anybody to check and clean gutters why is John Mahama cleaning them. The president other job is ti clean gutters.
How can John Mahama be proud of clean gutters when people dont have jobs. Who do John Mahama and his govt wants to clean our gutter. John Mahama I hope not.
That is when ghanaians dont owe ghana anymore. The president cant even get people to clean our gutters thinking he can do it himself.
Cholera outbreak is John Mahama and his govt doing. They dont that to take ghanaians mind from other serious things like education and the economy.
John Mahama was able to sign a twenty years contract with the EU without ghanaians what he was putting them thru.
John Mahama will sign another agreement 15 years with IMF. All these time and years EU and IMF will make all policies for ghana. We dont have a govt in ghana. They decide for the govt. IMF is in ghana to see what ghana govt should sell to them. They are going to make so many ghanaians unemploy. They will sell everything that belong to the state and bring the good and service for us to work for them.
Cholera was started by John Mahama and his secret agents.
My fear is because ghana needs money and help as usual with JM govt, my fear is that the govt will bring Ebola to ghana to make money.
If they can spread Cholera why cant they spread Ebola. If John Mahama clean these gutters as they should be clean ghanaians will never get cholera.
It is not only accra that have gutters. If JM had some sense they should have build drainage in every village and town.
