They try to conceal their ill-mannered existence by pandering to the underclass. Why can't you open up your mansions to these slum dwellers and their children, or better yet, let them set up camp around the periphery of your house, Mr Baako.

We are all struggling in Accra to get by, so should we rent our homes and set up camp in the middle of a road way and wait for you o defend our right to do so? There are so many insidious examples that are befuddling, yet somebody somewhere will actually defend the right of the motorway hawkers, who have besieged the Kwame Nkrumah Motorway Toll Booth. What kind of social animals are we?

I am going to ask God to sack you Kweku Baako, and anybody else who bears your character. And you know what it means when God sacks you right!

I now have to admit that this Kweku Baako guy is relapsing from premature senility to outright dementia. He is acting like a typical Ghanaian journalist. No facts, no material but yet, plenty of rumour, distortions, outright lies and a big front-page story. And with these abhorrent credentials they want us to hold them up above the rights and integrity of all other professions and rights of citizens in this country? No way! We might as well open the gates of Nsawam Prisons and let out all the felons and criminals to join them so that we can all do what we like in this country.

And by the way, CITIZEN ONE, for your information, Kweku Baako like his ex brother in arms Tsatsu Tsikata, turned his back many years ago on the principles of socialism. If you do not know, Kweku Baako is now a staunch and leading defender of the NPP, and therefore an apostle of neocolonialism.

He has opted for the exclusive interests of his stomach, political benefits, privilege and profit to glamorously survive above his own paltry means.

In the same way that any idiot can claim to be a Christian, any dishonest fool can likewise claim to be a socialist. To discern the difference between a true socialist and a fake socialist, you will need to open your own eyes wide, take a close look and make the necessary analysis and distinctions.

To be a socialist does not necessarily mean that you have to be poor but it definitely implies that you have to be principled to the cause of the truth and be committed to the politics of a fair and equitable distribution of the wealth, the resources and the privileges of society.

Now back to the story at hand. The Accra Mayor was merely doing his job by implementing regulations of his office which those cowardly and lying journalists were trying to obstruct him from doing by faking a tragic story that would have ultimately led to the need to stop the exercise to rid Accra of filth in the threatening face of the Cholera outbreak and deadly Ebola scare. Should these two health conditions get out of hand, people like Kweku Baako and his gang of irresponsible journalists should be held ultimately responsible.

As professionally ignorant and dishonest as Kweku Baako is, he is not even aware that the office of the Mayor of Accra has the legal powers to arrest any citizen or person in Accra who obstructs their statutory regulations, or is deemed to be conducting himself in a manner that is not commensurate with the needs and obligations of the sanity of the City of Accra. This is covered by the Bye-laws and regulations of Accra and any other modern City in Ghana and the world. Journalists, contrary to the over-rated opinions they have of themselves, are not above the law and we cannot continue to be blackmailed on the whims of corrupt and ignorant journalists to remain backward as a society. What nonsense is this?

Most of our journalists, due to their bad educational backgrounds, only at best, just want to report dramatic events in a sensational manner that will give them a name and therefore a little more money in their perennially empty pockets. They dont really care about the substance, the import or the background of the event that they exploit for their narrow individual interests. They should confront their media organizations that employ them to pay them better salaries so that they can stop harassing the truth and holding this country to ransom with their backward and dishonest ways.

If those cheap, irresponsible and cowardly journalists who Kweku Baako is defending, knew that they were honest and that they were not in the process of faking a staged tragedy with the shameful intent of deceiving the public and by that act unjustly and ultimately defaming the Accra Mayor, why did they bolt away like thieves who had been caught in the act when the Accra Mayor was about to apprehend them? Shame on all of them!

It even baffles me why regional ministers are not elected by the people in the region. IT'S NO WONDER OUR PRESIDENT'S CAN'T FUNCTION.
Our laws need to change to have these offices elected by the people in the city, town or region and not the President. Every problem in Ghana is deeply rooted in politics.

These squatters in slums all across the nation must be forced out. First and foremost it is not their home, and it is not government property to just give out. Even if it wee a public park, you do not have the right to set up a domicile there. Accra has been overran by all sorts of elements from around the country and its neighboring states. There is absolutely no law and order. Whenever someone attempts to make a sacrifice to turn things around, you over zealous and privileged bush rats, start your mob mentality rage. Mr. Baako, consider yourself a lucky bastard. I will not only jail them, but incarcerate them. What kind of school system exists for these unplanned children? This is cruelty to have poor slum dwellers making babies like wild animals, an expecting nature to take its course.

WE THE CIVILIZED AND PROGRESSIVE PEOPLE OF Ghana must put a stop to this culture once and for all. And if elements like Kweku Baako, forces the political weak hand of the President, i say the ordinary citizens and the indigenous people of Accra should take the law into their own hands, and bomb these slums to smithereens. IDIOT with money and a fat lip!!!

Where is the Town and Country Planning Dept in the overall planning of the spatial district of Accra? Are they resourced very well to undertake their functions in terms of logistics, personnel and funds? Do the authorities have to watch the springing up of these unauthorized structures and dwellings before moving in to bulldoze them down? What happened to prevention before the fact? What happened to maintenance and improvement of the planned space before the fact? The fire fighting approach has not helped the country and with the rural-urban migration, this is a spectacle that would not end anything time soon, unless pragmatic measures are taken to address the issue of planning, housing deficit reduction, affordability and the streamlining of development, that addresses the underlying cause of the urban drift. In the interim, to address the issue of these unplanned and unauthorized structures, there could be the construction of decent shelters which could be spearheaded by gov't or private enterprise, to accommodate residents of these unauthorized structures for a small fee, instead of sleeping in the open or building unapproved structures and distorting the spatial environment for proper planning and growth.
The humane touch is completely lost, and the problem is not addressed in the least bit, in a situation whereby the only recourse left, is to bulldoze these structures without any other avenue for accommodation. The gov't's role, working in tandem with the private sector or alone, to provide a fundamental basic human right to it's citizens, which is shelter is thus defeated.
One would expect that, in depth analysis is done to find out why these structures keep springing up and immediate measures and steps taken to address them by the judicious application of resources and revenue.

Why should ghettos/slums be welcome in the modern system today? Baako talks a lot but he is a real village minded person that has taken advantage of the foolish politics in Ghana, meaning they shout sack him,her, and them;- sack Nunoo Mensah then the weak president too listen to these educated buffons and did what they asked for.

Wake up Mr president and support those who face facts concerning the practical work of politics!!!!!!

Baako therefore use this situation to attack people who have realised that the best way to put the nation forward is to apply the law which the politicians have thrown away in order to please the electorates, leaving the nation in the limbo with a lot of failures in obtaining maximum development.
