He should know that governance is about implementing of policies to bring about economic prosperity to the citizenry and not banking on hope nor with these wishful thinking.It is really becoming too much with his political rhetoric.Today it is "pessimists will be disappointed".The other time,it was "doom wishers will be disappointed".What at all are these kind of talk? We don't know if it was mere coincidence or based on these promises that Fifi Kwetey bellowed that "Politicians should stop making desperate and irresponsible promises". However, Ghanaians are waiting to see the completion of all abandoned projects by 2016 as promised by the Mahama NDC gov't.

Does our President, HE John D. Mahama know and understand what the acronym "SMART" stands for and its implication(s)? Sadly, almost all statements (especially his goals, targets, objectives, aims, etc., etc - whichever way you choose to look at and evaluate things) made by the President and members of government do not line up with the basic attributes of goal-setting. The statements are NOT: specific (S), measurable (M), attainable or achievable (A), realistic or relevant (R) and time-bound (T). In fact, because his targets (statements) are NOT time-bound, you can't even evaluate them properly. How can the President in this news assert that "Ghanaians should be a little patient as they are about to enjoy a kind of “prosperity which has not been experienced in Ghana before”.

He said in a few time, there will be a turnaround of the economy, a situation which will disappoint the pessimists of his government."

Too bad, such and many other similar statements come from the President and his government. For how long should Ghanaians be patient, whilst he and his cohorts continue to mismanage? A very sad and deplorable state indeed!

Economic prosperity for EVERY GHANAIAN is what we look forward to,with a backbone as strong as igneous rock.We cannot continue to be surrounded by abundant drinkable water and complain of being thirsty.
We cannot also blame our colonial masters for our socioeconomic problems.It has been 57 solid years since the British did the handing over ceremony so we could begin to take care of our own affairs.
Again,we cannot adopt a defeatist attitude and throw our hands in the air in despair and blame the world economic system as responsible for our economic woes or sending economic shocks to haunt us.Whilst we cannot prevent the shocks from being transmitted to us so long as there is international trade,we can be vigilant,time it and act appropriately to minimize its impact on our economy and people.
The gradual strengthening of the US dollar(greenback) is going to be a thorn in the flesh of our Cedi(it is a destabilizing factor).I hope Dr. Kofi Wampah is aware of this development and is putting potent policy measures to contain it.I do not mean the thoughtless ones sprinkled in the Forex market when he awakened from his deep slumber.
Not only that,it is going to hold the price of gold down for a considerable amount of time.Meaning that export proceeds from the sale of gold will be affected.It will take a long time for the price of gold to go back to the almost $2000.00/ounce level.The reason being that because gold is quoted in US dollars,investors use gold as a store of value when the dollar weakens and vice versa.When the strengthening dollar rekindles the confidence of investors,it can lead to capital flight to the US or keen competition for foreign direct capital inflow,especially if the FED begins to increase its bank rate to hold inflation in the US in check.
A strengthening dollar is a mixed blessing because it will make USA exports more expensive and shift demand to imports.So with the unofficial devaluation of the Cedi which has made our exports comparatively cheaper,our best bet is to export ALL OUT to the US.
In view of the above,we can curtail or stop the importation of non-essential consumables(if there is no threat of retaliation from our trading partners),and conserve some foreign exchange.So our ticket out of the John Mahama/NDC substantially self-inflicted economic mess will not be easy.We must put on our girdles and hope that the expected injection of new cash money from the IMF/World Bank will stimulate consumption of goods and services and increase production and employment.

In case you do not know the history of Busia Versus Komla Gbedema electoral contest in 1969, here is the take; Komla Gbedema who led the NAL party brought the best of cars, money to spend and all the goodies - AKA Ghana's stolen moneys stashed in foreign banks; the good and wise people of Ghana in 1969 advised themselves and went to town to make noise for NAL. However, when the election came, they voted massively the Busia's Progress Party (PP, AKA eye Pro, Eye Sure) to teach the traitors of Nkrumah lessons. Hey Ghana, we know who is our real leader when the election time comes, Nana Akuffo Addo. The man Mahama is at war with Ghana and WE THE PEOPLE must stop him if NDC will not wise up and sack his ass. Lets retire NDC and Mahama from politics and let the chips fall where they may, and Ghana will be better off. This is Ghana's time. Lets Afro Gbede NDC and Mahama. When 2016 comes, remember Ghana has a favorite son called Nana Akuffo Addo who will lead us into the Osu Castle and Flag Staff House. Nana will revive the fortunes of Gas and all Ghanaians regardless of their towns of origin. Mahama is at war with Ghana and we must fire him come 2016. Could it be a wicked political strategy you have evolved to squeeze deprived electorates of economic development in the early years of your reign only to flood the country with goods and services towards the campaign period as you alleged to have said "Ghanaians have short memories..." and thus expect them to renew your mandate?
If my guess is right, then note that the good LORD will never let that happen.
