Let me remind all the NPP members the argument Nana Akufo-Addo made at the party’s Congress in Sunyani in 1998 in his opposition to giving candidate John Agyekum Kufuor the second chance after losing to Rawlings in 1996. Here was Nana Akufo: “I call on members of the party [NPP] to embrace change in leadership of the party. Such changes are far from harming the fortunes of the party. Change improves the chances of political parties as a new face eventually means new ideas, new methods and new strategies…any candidate elected as the NPP's flag-bearer has already secured 30% of the total valid votes. Failure to garner the remaining 20% plus 1 means the candidate has failed, and therefore must be changed” (ref: Ghana Daily Graphic, October 8, 1998). If John Kufuor back then did not deserve to be nominated for the second consecutive time, why is it okay now for Nana Akufo-Addo to seek the party’s nomination the third consecutive time, having led NPP to two painful electoral defeats in 2008 and 2012? Well, it seems like Nana Akufo-Addo is getting ready to take NPP to the electoral slaughterhouse in 2016 all over again. Let the self-denials ignore the warnings

I'm not a supporter of NPP and I don't want you guys to win power but when it comes to what the woman reportedly said,a lot of people are attracted to Alan than Akuffo Addo,even if they have to go out on a date line he will pick five ladies before Akuffo Addo will struggle to get one.
People all over the world will like to have a handsome or nice looking president than an ugly and horrible looking president.

Remember one of The messages in all the two last elections was Akuffo Addo is too short to be president of Ghana and all these times he stood against very tall men putting him in disadvantage position ascompare to Kufour,who is tall and competed against equally tall man and won which should tell you that the woman is actually talking from experience whether you like the message or not.
The good side of her message is that she has given the NDC one more point to use in the general election should Akuffo Addo wins the nomination.

I like Akufo-Addo as a person but the fact is that NDC will be smiling all the way into 2016. They know too much about this man and how to play their propaganda against him. Already Ken Agyepong, Kofi Ghana, Arthur K, Sammy Awuku and a few other NPP leaders have given the NDC enough armo to floor Akufo-Addo in 2016. Sad but true.

Alan and his faithfuls are desperate for power, but the NPP conservatives have already made up their minds or set their minds on Nana Addo, and nothing can change that.
They want to reward Nana for the last time for his contribution to the party for the past forty years. They have faith in Nana, and believe he can transform this country with the support of the International community as was done by JAK.
Nana has the contacts worldwide to solicit for international support to move this country forward. John Mahama did not have any international contacts, not even from Togo and la Cote d'Ivoire, and that partly accounts for why his government is struggling with the economy and other related issues.
Alan, on the other hand, is desperate for power now because his mentor, JAK, is far advanced in years, and might not be available to offer Alan the needed direction in the likely event that he becomes the NPP Flag bearer after John Mahama and Nana Addo. So, to Alan, it is now or never. Without JAK's support and direction, Alan is a mere sounding brass and hollow. His only trump card for now is access to cash from the 'Young Executive Forum' for his campaign.
Be it as it may, the success of the NPP would depend strongly on the unity that the party faithfuls and the leadership would forge to bring everybody on board. The leaders must all acknowledge the fact that, whoever wins the October Conference sees it as victory for the NPP, and not victory for Nana or Alan's faction.
If that is done, and Alan does not repeat his past mistakes of alienation, then the NPP would be in the position to wrestle political power from the current NDC Crisis Management team.
