The 1992 constitution is clear on the definition of DUAL NATIONALITY and what positions such a person CANNOT hold.

For the avoidance of doubt I quote verbatim of what our constitution says in Article 8 as amended (page 1 of the constitution):

(8)(1) A citizen of Ghana may hold the citizenship of any other country in addition to his citizenship of Ghana
(2) Witnout prejudice to article 94(2) (a) of the constitution, no citizen of a Ghana shall qualify to be appointed as a holder of any office specified in this clause if he holds the citizenship of any other country in addition to his citizenship of Ghana -
(a) Ambassador or High Commissioner
(b) Secretary to the Cabinet
(c) Chief of Defence Staff or any other Service Chief.
(d) Inspector General of Police.
(e) Commissioner, Customs, Excise and Preventive Service;
(f) Director of Immigration Service; and
(g) any office specified by an Act of Parliament.

The question to be answered is : is the position of the EXECUTIVE SECRETARY OF THE NIA ONE OF THEM?

The answer is a big NO!

So there is no need for Cobbah to give any secrets to any country. Do you really think that there is a sovereign dichotomy between the US and Israel? Of course not. Serious political observers have even considered Israel to be the 54th state of the US. So therefore, it is not strange that so many Israelis work in the US and vice-versa. The US funds and sponsors the existence of Israel to the tune of billions of dollars each and every year. In return, Israel ensures the political and economic instability of the Middle East region so that the US can conveniently and cheaply exploit their oil and gas.

It is only naive and ignorant people who would ignore the dangerous security circumstances of an American citizen or any other foreign citizen, working in a sensitive and critical state institution in Ghana. For sure, as serious a people as they are, the Americans would not have any such arrangement on their doorstep. You dare not! So why should we be comfortable with this weird arrangement? Come on! They wont even give you visas to go and clean their toilets after they have exploited you of hefty visa fees.

Even western Europeans, who are today considered as mere colonies of the US, would not have any of this. That is why, if you are abreast with recent developments, the US would take the risk of stooping as low as to eavesdrop on the telephone lines of staunch ideological allies including that of Angela Merkel of Germany, the Canadian Prime Minister, the President of Brazil and many other presumed allies around the world. My friend, the world is a serious place and fools like you have no place in it except to be hewers of wood and drawers of water because you refuse to start thinking.

In our case, the west - particularly, the US, needs our unflinching, unquestionable and subservient loyalty more today than at any other time before in world history. They need it not because they need friends with whom they can go out to have drinks with, but, believe it or not, they need it for their own survival as has always been the case.

Some of you do not seem to even know our potential, what we have and how to protect and use it for our interests and development. Some of you have wasted a lot of time and resources going to school all the way up to PhD level for absolutely nothing. That is why Ghana is in a poor state. It is because our educated elite are mere idiots who do not know whats going on in the world around us. Their highest aspirations in life is limited to building a nice house, buy a nice car, pay their childrens school fees and have enough change left to drink beer every day. Thus, they are only too happy to play to the tune of those who would eagerly exploit us for their own selfish advantage.

It would not surprise me that this so-called Dr Cobbah, an American citizen, was recommended for that position by an American intelligence contact.

Nanayaw, its late in the day, you and your likes have got to get up off your arses and wake up for our own survival.

I congratulate the Republic newspaper for breaking ranks from the general media stupor and showing some sense of nationalism and exceptional brilliance by publishing this story.

People whose only loyalty is to foreign govts and countries and who would pretend to be Ghanaian but behind the scenes, they would sell their their mothers and fathers for a dime.

If the US does not accept dual citizenship status of individuals, why should we accept dual citizenship holders as managers in our critical state institutions? In some more serious countries, they will not even employ you as a manager in any serious institution if your wife is a foreigner.

If you therefore think that there is no point in guarding our national security institutions against obvious foreign predators, then I suggest that we might as well change the name of our country, our national flag and anthem to reflect those of other nations as well since we will ultimately be working for their benefit.

Ethiopian Airways is been run by foreign investor,look at how it operates.The Govt takes its tax and is ok with it.We live now in A world that has turn into a gobal village because of technology.Write something better on Ghana web and stop lavashing around.Most of the investsment that has ben going on in Ghana has all be coming from Ghanian citizens resident in the west. The U.S. government does not let people renounce their citizenship before they become an American citizen by naturalization. They just turn a blind eye to it because unlike the Ghanaian they know that everybody has a unique role to play.

People who have advanced the notion of dual citizenship have always been selfish, greedy, hypocritical and not worthy of trust of any nation. For while the government of the USA has the tools, staff and power to go after people holding US citizenship who engage in misdeeds or questionable moral turpitude, Ghana through its government does not have what it takes to go after so-called Ghanaians with citizenship from other nations who engage in mismanagement and or acts of treason who escape prior to being arrested.
This Dr Cobbah is a disgrace to intellectual honest people in Ghana and the NDC government agency that did background check on Dr. Cobbah need to be restructured.
We have a Ghana that is entering a dangerous phase as a nation because its educated and political elite have become enemies of the nation.

There's a lot ghanaians in the diaspora can do to help hasten the realization of our national aspirations. We should not scare them away.
