All said, Dr. Bawumia is right. Currently, while the £ rate perged at 5.18 it's officially being sold at the GCB over 6.1. According to the BoG Governor there is no liquidity in the market. Who is the cause? When we are to discuss serious issues that affect our beloved country, you always put in a foot. You are a disgrace to all those Ghanaians living here.

Aren't there any economists in the NDC? What does Wampah take Ghanaians for? Bank of Ghana does not have any figures from Reuters so also does not have "any numbers to work with". The Central Bank does not even have any means of knowing or determining the exchange rates other than wait for Reuters. So how then does the MPC make its decision. Any wonder they can't even tell the inconsistency between the SS quoted inflation, exchange rates and interest rates. If Reuters suffers technical difficulties for six months, the Bank of Ghana will not have any credible monetary policies. So how does this foolish statement answer Bawumia? Wampah has also said (in another statement) that the fall in the value of the cedi was due to speculation; that is what determines exchange rates everywhere on Planet Earth. One of the duties of any Central Bank in the world is to diffuse the speculation by taking the appropriate actions. Wampah's Bank of Ghana took the opposite action in the attempt to artificially raise the value of the cedi. Will someone please ask Wampah to resign for lack of depth of Ghana's economy or show him the exit. I wonder if Wampah is performing any better than Kwesi Appiah.

I took a look at the Bank of Ghana web site and its very sad. Surely there are lots of well skilled ghanaian web developers working in High and Mighty places. Every bank in the world uses bankofthis or bank of that.com. Bank of Ghana uses BOG. do you know what BOG means? No wonder we cannot get out of the dirt. Ghanaian banks also get their rates from Reuters yet their rates are hugely different from that of BoG. Clearly there is an element of fraud in the official rates provided by BoG.
