  Nduom has his ears on the ground, and as a businessman himself, he knows the business environment, and what it would take to get the country moving forward.

  The unnecessary expansion of cities,towns and villages is the key problem to our electricity and water supply. Until something is done to stop this mayhem no amount of power will be enough for the country. We are loosing arable farmlands to housing so fast that now Kumasi and Accra are literally joined together as one city.....there is a human settlement every two munites along the road.....electricity is also extended to these settlements. The more you extend electricity over an area the weaker it becomes; hence the use of transformers to boost the power.....but they in turn consume some of the power.
  
  In a country where every revenue to the government is first collected by hand by corrupt revenue collectors what do you expect? They keep about 80% or all of it to themselves. Who checks them???
  
  I have solutions to all these problems which I will discuss later. It is amazing that our professors, doctors, experts, economists, politicians, clergy, and whoever you can think of keep blaming government without thinking about these problems themselves.

  Yes is half true that energy for that matter electricity 's erratic supply is disincentive to businesses. This is half true. Taking the Nigerian experiences, Nigeria has the worst power outage yet its industries are flourishing, why? it means we are not doing some things right not necessary electricity supplies. Almost all west Africans have a big demands for made in Nigeria goods why? because with all their power problems they are still able to produce at competitive prices and meet our demands. We are not thinking correct. Why are we always thinking one sided? if power is the problem therefore cost of production is high then cut taxes and cut developmental ambitions to manageable level. why we want to build two hundred schools we want to build supper fly overs don't you think some of these projects are over ambitions leading to corruptions.? We need as a nation to check over promises during elections years, manifestos should be bound or be given a national limitation so that no party can promised to out do one another just because of votes, there should be a national agenda so that which ever party wins must follow that agenda. Over developmental ambitions are killing us.

  Ghanaians who continue to talk about the interruptible electric supply in Ghana needs to tarred and feathered anytime they dare open their mouths on the subject.
  I say so without remorse because anyone with the wherewithal and has been reading on global temperature trends over the past 30years would have known that Ghana's reliance on the Akosombo hydroelectric power was bound to have problems. Problems due to population increase, increasing demand in usage, national development needs and not to mention our sale agreement with other nations. We have sat in Ghana since the 1966 coup and seen many thieves as presidents come and go. None of us made prioritization of national needs based on our assets. Paa Kwesi was busy making his money outside Ghana and when he had a chance with the NPP government under Kufour did not beat his chest about electricity needs and the high priority it deserved. It’s time for publicity stunts to end for even you political goats.

  Whatever it is that make Governments have a hard ear must be stronger that their will to honestly serve the people that they have sworn to serve.
  
  I am informed, and I understand that the 2000 MW Ketu Power Project was coming with a 350 mmscf/day (about 3.0Mtonne/year LNG) onshore modular ORV regasification.
  
  This is far more than Ghana needs to solve her energy problem for the next 10 years or more. But the Energy Ministry and its Minister have shoved this investment at bay for 5 years just to pave the way for their contract power barges.
  
  Power barges depending on their source of fuel would generate power at a cost 1.7 to 3.2 times the cost of the same capacity plant on land.
  
  Power barges are ONLY emergency response when planned generation is disrupted by a force majeure or for very remote locations such as the North Sea Oil Platforms and its artificial islands or for military purposes as in Afghanistan or for mining in remote locations as in Chile.
  
  Ghana as a developing country needs the cheapest power to encourage investment.
  
  For your information Ghana has one power barge, the Osagyefo which has not generated a single watt since it was procured.
  
  The 2000 MW Ketu Power Project, we are told is a 2 Billion Euro foreign direct investment with no direct implication for Ghana Debt Portfolio.
  
  So why is the NDC dragging its feet?
  
  Why hasn't this investment taken off?
  
  Why is Hon. Kofi Buah playing hide and seek with this investors?
  
  And why would the Government of the NDC and Mahama as its Leader deny the people of Ketu this wonderful opportunity?
