Big tummy = to beer. Ghana's book long PHDs are a waste. They cannot solve basic problems confronting the country. Fellows, university education is the development of the mind to solve problems.

Ghanaians demand a better understanding of Foreign Exchange and its management from the governor. It is the lapse in this area which caused the Cedi to unofficially depreciate. The governor should understand that there is the conspicuous need for sustainable programs to net in foreign exchange instead of resorting to bond issues when our debt/GDP ratio is almost at the allowable maximum and loans occasion debt servicing challenges. The cocoa purchasing loan should be self-financing so i have no qualms with it.My concern is to ensure that some of the proceeds do not end up in private pockets in dubious ways.
There is the need for more foreign exchange earnings through exports. In this regard, the diversification of our export products/produce and markets cannot be overemphasized.I am afraid to mention tourism when our cities are engulfed with exceeding filth and the flies are having cookouts and spreading diseases in due course.
As i commented elsewhere, the strengthening greenback will pose some challenges to the Cedi.Simply because they have an inverse relationship. They move in opposite directions. When the Cedi weakens, the greenback strengthens and vice versa. The greenback will also hold down the price of gold for a considerable amount of time.So any anticipated foreign exchange earnings should take cognizance of this fact.
Also, there is the need to figure out a middle course where the Cedi is neither too strong so as to make our exports expensive and drive our customers to our competitors nor too weak to throw our economic indices and society into a state of disarray.
The governor should take a second look at the export proceeds retention ratio. It is my fervent hope that a chunk of the export receipts will be retained by the bank than it is currently the practice.
There is the urgent requirement to accelerate the accumulation of foreign exchange and foreign investments. We need to aggressively search for export markets in the USA.It is the formula China and others used and continue to use to accumulate foreign exchange and foreign investments.

In what way would the cedi appreciate against the dollar? Wait, there is none. Until the country learns to feed herself without food imports nothing would improve. Do the simple thing by growing your own food then the rest would follow. Do your part by making it extremely difficult for those who import food.

If the "dollar just went down today" then what he is saying is correct. if the dollar goes down it means the Cedi has gone up. In your haste to insult you miss the opportunity of analyzing your own statement vis a vis his.

The incompetent idiot corrupt BOG boss should step down in shame. The measures he put in place were needless and stupid at best. He has destroyed the businesses of hard working Ghanaians and the economy as a whole. Some have even died from heart attack for watching their hard earned wealth evaporated overnight because of his incimpetent stupid useless and needless fiscal policies. He should be ashamed of himself. He's still at post because of the favour he did for the Mahamah family; handing Merchant Bank on the silver platter to them for practically nothing. This idiot has the audacity to advice us about the cedi. What does he know about fiscal policy with his skinky and messy track record? He's useless and incompetent period. He has to bow his head in shame and commit suicide for the good of the nation and mankind.
