THEY COST THE STATE MONEY BY MAINTAINING THEM, FILLING THEM AND HIRING DRIVERS. IN CIVILIZED SOCIETIES THESE THINGS DO NOT HAPPEN. THAT IS WHY THERE ARE TOO MANY UNRESTS IN THE COUNTRY BECAUSE OTHERS COMPLAIN FOR NOT GETTING HOUSING AND ALL THAT SO THEY REFUSE TO WORK OR BE POSTED TO CERTAIN AREAS BECAUSE THERE IS NO GOVT HOUSING. SELL OR GET RID OF ALL THOSE BUNGALOWS AND THE GOVT WILL NOT BE PAYING FOR MAINTENANCE. NO MORE HOUSING OR VEHICLES FOR STATE OFFICIALS

In addition to what is being suggested by Kofi, I also call for the closure of police barracks. Police officers should be paid decent salaries that will allow them to pay for decent accomodation. This will also allow to leave in the community and hence build healthy relationships.

It's about time Ghana stopped pampering and encouraging blatant daylight robbery. That colonial mentality where public officials are provided with Maids, Driver, Garden Boy, Boys Quarters, Free Bangalow, renovation, free electricity, free water and free officers meals must cease with immediate alacrity. In the US, even presidents pay tax, drive their own private cars, and do not carry furniture away on retirement!Clinton was made to return furniture and crockery of the White House because they were not personals!. Look at Jcob Zuma's rape on South Africa to create a lavish village for himself when Mandela only had a relatively conservative small home at Qunu in Transkei. Kwame Nkrumah kept nothing for himself and Acheampong had to provide Fathia and kids a Cottage which Rawlings stole and gave to Justice Annang! Where are we heading, Poor Ghana?

All these officials have been given cars which they draw gas for free even for their own private errands. This should not be. Ministers should be given loans to buy cars and buy their own gas except when they are going on ...

All these officials have been given cars which they draw gas for free even for their own private errands. This should not be. Ministers should be given loans to buy cars and buy their own gas except when they are going on official duties. Some of them have two to three chauffer-driven cars, some of them being used by their wives and girl friends at the expense of the state. All these are part of the reason why corruption is existing in Ghana.

Lately and perhaps over the past 20 years our elders have shown themselves to have sold their souls for a few shillings. Are we to accept a new norm after all of state lands and property have been stolen by NDC and NPP as wisdom? Ghana can only become whole once again when our lands and properties are taken back by force or by law as J.J. Rawlings did ceasing all CPP assets for his wife while claiming to right past wrongs or J. A. Kufour disbursing assets to NPP thieves.

Does the state in developed countries build houses for citizens to rent? Yes they do.
