Regional Accreditation is for two main reasons:
a. Regional accreditation ensures that an institution’s academic program meets acceptable levels of quality.
b. Institutions must be accredited by a federally recognized accrediting agency to qualify for participation in federal financial aid programs that provide low cost loans to students.
Some Christian Universities or Bible Colleges in the US deliberately bypass this process to prevent the US government from telling them what they should teach. Note that there are other credible independent accreditation agencies in the US.

In real sense, the fact that Ghana accreditation board do not recognise this degree does not mean it is fake! It only becomes fake when he fraudlently acquires the degree. GAB to recognise or not is a secondary matter. Maybe Togo or Bennin or who knows? read to give fair critics! personally he was not my favourite his degrees and what have he is non of my business and so long as he did not use any fake means to get the degree? who cares? after all, the so called degree holders could only produce "fufu" ponding machine that never got on the market but Kantanka Have! The Ghana National Accreditation Board has no jurisdiction over Day Spring Christian University of Mississippi, unless the accreditation Board is saying the school is fake or does not exist.
