The easiest way let have cap and limit how much you can spend to rent and let them budget their budget like all of us.

Not too long ago,was the partisan GBA,of which he[Okudzeto] has been a past president,not in the news threatening to take govt to court for not providing "decent" and "fitting" accomodation for members of the judiciary?

You should be prepared to accept and consider suggestions from the opposition based on their merit rather than politics.

If Sam Okudzeto feels offended by the outrageous conduct of Laureta Lamptey,why is he calling on an "illegemate" President[this is a sentiment he,and others, have unabashedly and repeatedly expressed since the SC of verdict of last year;not mine],to take action? Going by his own statement,he certainly knows what can be done,does he not?

As again my brother. Well, may be she was living out of town.. and needed to be accommodated in the city because the job is located in Accra. But like you if her regular abode was in Accra prior to appointment,she should have stayed put until the new so-called official was was renovated, but not to her TASTE per se, but to the normal standard--- a toilet or two, a living room, 2-3 bathrooms, kitchen, , that's it!. NPP's Jake Obitsebi did same and eventually bought that same official house he had renovated with state money... This NONSENSE must stop!!!

This is one comment I have heard a senior citizen for a while. I understand this housing scheme was introduced in the Cold Coast time when to encourage people to study and take positions to build Ghana. Now that is past and out of date. These guys who are housed as part of their employment package even though are paid higher that others in similar positions, they have these facilities and many others not to mention.
Why can't they rent a place of their own if a junior worker can? This is the time to take this away from them and sell them to support the economy. They should be encourage to take loans to build their own houses. One sad thing is because thy enjoy these facilities some forget to build a house of their own so when they retires they have nowhere to go and it becomes a problem. In fact this should have happen many years ago so please act now.

Otherwise how much is Lauretta's salary to rent an apartment worth that amount? Her father was a diplomat so she is used to spending government money frivolously. So why is Ghana,a struggling country providing accommodation for the public servants(from the president to the garden boys and 'security officers/watchmen')?There need to be a change for the better.It is one of the reasons government expenditure is astronomical.It is surely a fertile ground for corruption and pilfering.People who have houses in Accra and should have lived in them are living in SANTA CLAUS' bungalows rent-free and most likely renting their private homes out.
Until Ghana does away with this socialism mentality,there cannot be any meaningful forward march.
The other day,Jerry Rawlings was crying about furniture in his bungalow.If you are lucky to have a place to lay your head rent free,why can you not call Papa Carpenter and use some of the ill-gotten wealth for a set of furniture of your choice to make his day?
