Nobody is safe from this disease now.

What happened to the 'very neat and rich' old Ghana some of us grew up in?

The good, old 'tankase' mentality should be brought back because that system worked. It wasn't a sophiscated system but it protected us in a lot of ways.
That system 'forced' and encouraged every Ghanaian to be hygienic - food vendors, parents, market women- all towed the line of the regional and local town/municipal councils or a fine was paid by anyone 'caught' being dirty.

I know some people will say with the population explosion and the massive bribery and corruption that has eaten into every fabric of the Ghanaian society, the old "tankase" system might not be effective but it doesn't seem like what we are practising currently is working. It has failed miserably.
So what is preventing us from going back to the old system and fine tuning it for this modern time?
We've got a lot to lose if we keep going on like this.

Is any person in political power of influence reading this?
