You beat me to it. I was about to say that but Ghana is a banana republic. In a situation like Kenu's case where the assault took place in public and there was a lot of witnesses and also Kenu took a medical form from the Police, he Kenu cannot withdraw the assault case against Gyan and his thugs.
The Police does not need him to testify to convict Gyan of the assault charges. This is not a civil case like Kenu vs Gyan.
In a criminal case, it is THE STATE OF GHANA VS GYAN and it is only the state that can drop a criminal case against a defendant but the complainant, in this case, Kenu can only refuse to testify.

Sad Mr Kenu had sold his morals for money. He could have sued the Gyan brothers in civil court for financial compensation but Ghanaian Judges cannot be trusted so we cannot blame him for accepting money and move on with his life.

Yes that traitor, the Trokosi Kenu guy reserve the right to do what he did but the GJA can use the might of their pens to push the State to protect its members. Doing talking alone on the radio waves is just not enough. The journalists must sit up, defend their code of ethics and prove to us that they are the mouth piece of the voiceless, the oppressed and the under privileged masses. Obinim did it to them and he is working free. Afua Pokua, the so called Vim Lady got her ass " shined" or "Vimed", as my Kumasi guys would term a hefty beatings and the only action so far is just barking on radio talk shows.

I also also read that this Kenu man was reported to have said that in addition to the public prosecution he would also sue Baffuor Gyan in a civil case?
Well, I guess if he has been given some of the Gyan millions, why would he not take it and enjoy it rather than risk the possibility of the State Attorney and the Police messing up the case in court?
It's really disappointing and sad that someone can deliberately break the law and get away with it because the family is rich and famous. Here even a minister would have been prosecuted.

Then again, why is it so easy for some of you people who have never raised a finger to raise Ghana from its poorly state, to issue damnining disclaimers such as it is a failed state, against the country of our birth? If it is, what are YOU doing about it, instead of sitting on the side-lines and moaning?
This is not a matter that should have even been considered for prosecution in the first place. The two parties should have amicably sorted themselves out even before it got to that stage.
This is a simple case of one party insulting the integrity of the other and being given a good whacking in return for it. Pure and simple. It happens everyday everywhere. There isnt much more to it than just that and besides, there are much more serious problems of political and economic graft that the courts should be paying attention to than this simple public brawl, as unfortunate as it might be.
If the party that took the matter up has reconsidered his action - whether under the sobering effect of financial inducement or not, what is your beef about it?
