You can love your pastor and respect him but you don't have to be a replica of him because God has gifted all His children uniquely.
You may be able to do some things your pastor may not have the grace to do and vice versa. It doesn't mean he's not your pastor but you should depend on the measure of faith God has given you.

We live in a country run by a god. The president tells us he takes advise from a god. The institutions of state are setup and control by a god. A minister of state tells us Ghana's problems can only be solved by a god. Citizens are constantly called upon by Dr this, University professor that to pray to a god to develop the country. The president spents his time organising groups to visit the son of a god. Unniversity and secondary students spend their time not studying but praying to a god. Ghana has become ancient Egypt -the land of gods. And don't tell me there is a god with capital letter and another with small letter. Don't dare call pastors criminals because the have managed to use their brains to make a living preaching superstitious bullshit to infants, illiterates, mad people, mentally handicapped most of them with university degrees, doctorates etc.

At least they have to pay tax, the primary duty of govt is to protect its citizens. For your information Pastors from Nigeria are sending 1000s of dollars weekly out of Ghana and you are telling me the govt can't do anything about. I tell you what our problem is, our problem is, we lack simple thinking skills. Let's go to any part of the world and do the same and see what will happen. The black star players lost 1000s in taxes when they took their money in cash out of Brazil. What do you think would happen if it happened in Ghana? He is indirectly condemning some other men of God that people might be admiring.People of God are endowed with different gifts, and this must be taken note of. Some are Pastors, some are Teachers, Apostles, Prophets and Evangelists. somebody will be stronger in one ministry than the other, but the same GOD. let us learn to appreciate one another. Period! What is fake, the Lord will help us sort out by discernment through the knowledge of the Holy Scriptures. Amen.

You also have a mega Church and you are addressed as Pastor not Brother. You have a Honorary doctorate degree - a worldly title but you use it on all your books and rumour is that you get offended if you are not addressed as Dr. This article evn addressed you as Dr. Otabil. In your Church tithe payment is compulsory even though it is not a requirement in the Church Jesus asked the disciples to start. So take the log out of your eye first and you will see the speck in other people's eyes.

A very typical example is posting the photograph of the head pastor of the church on all the church advertising bill boards. This was not done during my school days in the 80's. We saw the Cross or the photo of Jesus Christ instead.

But what do we see now; ICGC without Pastor Mensah Otabil's photo is not ICGC..I can go on mentioning so many big, big churches parading their head pastors' photos, why...?

The gospel is the gospel, it is not economic empowerment. it is the CROSS and the BLOOD. And Otabil is guilty of this, he preaches the gospel sometimes, not always.

Very unfortunately not many of us read the bible.

Putting your believe on a man of God is normal, it helps to build ones faith.

Having said that the only other titles that are endorsed by scriptures for servants of God are Apostles, Prophets, evangelists,Teachers and Pastors. All other titles are, thus, mundane and arrogance.
There is nothing like doctor, archbishop and the like endorsed by the word of God.
It is sad that most servants of God want to tow the worldly way and be called by big mundane titles.
Yes ' man of God' is an Biblical endorsed title.
Pastor Otabil spoke the truth about one having that personal faith in Jehovah rather than him as a pastor. We can only emulate their faith just as Paul said we should emulate his faith as he emulate that of Christ.The meaning needs time and it is my prayer that a man of God will come across your path one day and expound unto you.
Stay in expectation for a visitation from God.
