  KB Ashanti is a disgrace. How can any reasonable human being in his right mind justify communist dictatorship and tyranny? Nkrumah did not have any excuse for doing what he did except that he was preparing the ground with series of unprovoked actions to create a one party state, and declare himself president for life as he did in the end.
  Communist ideology doesn't have a place for opposition in the system. Have you ever heard of a communist democratic country in the world with an opposition to check the government? Nkrumah chose communism as a means for keeping himself in power forever. He therefore introduced the Detention without Trial Act only to gag everybody, create communist dictatorship in Ghana and turn himself into a president for life. This is because communist don't share power.

This is the exact propaganda material churned out by the CIA to get Nkrumah toppled. Interestingly, this is even going on now against Obama because of some of his policies. The Republicans are up in arms that 'these socialist ideas are meant to keep the Democrats in power for ever'! You see our' Democratic, Multi-Party, Free, Modern Ghana' now? Let me give you one typical example of such lies: When silos were built in many Cities to store cocoa to force the world price to go up, the opposition, with their CIA minders, went into overdrive spreading rumours that these would be the places where all people would go and line up for their meals because in communist countries, that is what they did!. China was specially mentioned. Look at China now! Somehow, many people were caught in that web of deceit and lies!. Most of the Silos were left to the elements and even though they were built with State Funds, our 'Saviours' abandoned them to fall into ruins. Let's try and give credit where and when it is due. With all the 'faults' of Nkrumah, could you really put your hand on your heart and say that if our current 'leaders' were in office at the time, Ghana would have ever been Independent? I am sure someone would have sold the whole nation and pocketed the proceeds! You compare what Nkrumah personally 'stole' from the state with what is going on now! May the Good Lord have mercy on us.
