It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution...

In practice none of the words he uses means anything in Ghana; open government, transparency, accountability, mean anything. This president is living in cloud cuckoo land in his head. None of the things he talks about in Ghana is real. It is all fantasy stuff when Ghanaians know that it has been over 2 years now and the woyome saga has not been resolved by the courts of the land; the stolen monies have not been recovered by the attorney general even though the courts have instructed the monies to be paid back and mahama is supposed to be believed when he talks about good governance and open government. What a load of codswallop!

Transparency implies accountability. The President should also let us know how every penny is spent from our National Treasury. And he should direct all his Officials to show what wealth and properties they have acquired since they were appointed and how they came by those.

Talk is cheap. Deeds take courage and determination. We have been lied to so many times that we do not want to just hear the good sound bites without seeing anything concrete to back them up.

So, let the President prove how much he lives by his own words. Let us see the Transparency in his Administration, from top to bottom now.
