HELPLESSNESS, HOPELESSNESS & FEELING OF DESPONDENCY HAVE GRIPPED MANY IN GHANA TODAY.
GHANA HAS BEEN RAPED BY THESE NDC IDIOTS. WE DO NOT NEED ANY NATIONAL ECONOMIC FORUM, WE NEED A NATIONAL COURT OF JURISDICTION TO PUT MAHAMA AND HIS CABINET ON TRIAL. GHANA'S HOPELESS ECONOMIC SITUATION, TODAY, IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. NDC HAS OVER THE PAST 5 YEARS PRESIDED OVER THE BIGGEST RESOURCES IN OUR HISTORY INCLUDING CRUDE OIL & STEALTH TAXES. THEY HAVE ALSO CONTRACTED THE BIGGEST LOANS IN OUR HISTORY. IF THEY HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW FOR THIS AND THE ECONOMY IS IN SHAMBLES, THEN,THEY MUST BE PROSECUTED. THEY MUST GIVE THE MONEYS BACK TO THE TREASURY. WE DO NOT NEED ANY ECONOMIC FORUM. SET UP A COURT IMMEDIATELY. IT HAPPENED IN THAILAND RECENTLY, PRIME MINISTER YINGLUCK SHINAWATRA WAS REMOVED BY THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT FOR ABUSING POWER. LOOK AT GHANA;-- EMBRAER PLANE SCANDAL, STX KOREA,NDC US$20 MILLION PARTY HQ., US$4 MILLION DODGY JUDGEMENT DEBT TO MRS RAWLINGS AND HER COMPANY, SUBAH, GYEEDA, WOYOMI, ISOFOTON, WATERVILLE, AFRICA AUTOMOBILE, CP, SADA, FORTIZ/MERCHANT BANK,BRAZIL WORLD CUP SCANDAL, FREE EXPENSIVE CARS FOR CHIEFS, AKONFEM AND A HOST OF OTHER DODGY JUDGEMENT DEBT PAYMENTS. BUYING VOTES WITH CASH, LAND CRUISERS & LAPTOPS JUST TO WIN ELECTIONS. WHY NDC?????? WHY??? OUR SUPREME COURT COULD NOT HELP BUT DESCRIBED IT AS "ALLIANCE TO CREATE, LOOT AND SHARE" WHAT A SHAME? ?? AND YOU CALLING GHANAIANS TO A WASTEFUL ECONOMIC FORUM. NDC, THE MONEY IS WITH YOU, GIVE IT BACK TO GHANA. NPP, I SALUTE YOUR COURAGE FOR NOT ATTENDING. NPP REMAIN SMART AND VIGILANT!!!

Is a shame that after almost sixty years of independece,we haven`t be able to put our house in order, that Ghanaians have to undertake such risky adventure due to bad policies at home.
All Ghanaians should bow our heads in shame, that we have failed Ghana.
We can`t always blame Governments for bad policies, because every Government elected or Military is the reflection of the society it rules.
It is we the people who deceide which Government we want,if the people allowe the Military to rule,it means the people want it to rule them, because there is no force in the World which can go against the will of the majority. If it is a corrupt Government, like the one we are having now,it is the majority who voted for them.
It is time we all take responsibilities in our Country and build it how we want it to be.
With the blame game,Ghana will be the same like today in another thousand years.
Always blaming the NDC or the NPP is not the solution, lets go deep inside ourselves, and ask what have we done and what can we do for Ghana,so that even if this generation don`t benefit, the next generation will not suffer like the past generation.
Ghana is a blessed land, let us do our best and make it place woth living in.

It is the ardent imperative responsibility of every civilised Government to save or rescue her citizens in foreign countries, when their lives are risk. Ghana failing to save or rescue the lives of her citizens in Libya calling for help is a babaric act, which is against the oath, which these socalled ministers swore: The dignity of every citizen is inalienable. To respect it and to PROTECT it is the responsibility of the gouverment in power. Thus, if Ghana, espceially the Foreign Ministry, fails to rescue or proctect the Ghanaians in Libya from executions, then Ghana is really a FAILED STATE und ought to be accountable/prosecuted for such hideous inhuman catastrophy. Even though the govt has a responsibility to evacuate Ghanaians stranded in Libya, it is so very painful that it is the effort and taxes of those of us who did not turn our backs on our country in these difficult times and who are erroneously considered as unambitious, that will be used for this process.
When some of our fellow compatriots cop out and manage to get a few dollars to their name, they then take on the racist attitudes of their hosts and begin to look down on the country and people who brought them to this world. Many instances of these selfish and ignorant types can be found among contributors to Ghanaweb.
I hope Ghanaians will now learn that it is our collective intellectual and physical effort that can make our country just like, or better than any other country. There is no pride such as the pride of having accomplished significant gains to the quality of life and the world. It makes those who seek greener material pastures a shameful small-minded lot.
This effort to rebuild ones fathers and mothers 'house' includes confronting stupid political leaders who gang up to make our country difficult to live in, doing our best in our professional and industrial endeavors, getting involved in politics if we think that by that route we can help our country, and doing our best in whatever other socioeconomic endeavor we lend ourselves to.
No matter how superficially and materially attractive it may seem to be, seeking greener pastures is actually taking a reverse turn in life.

Dear Susuka, do you know that you are able to post your message on this site because a Ghanaian who migrated to Amsterdam built this site?
Think about that for a moment... You are what we call a narcissist - a self focussed person with no soul. Yes, Susuka you have no soul. You are part of our society that is filthy.
Do you pay taxes? Really? Give up your real identity and let the VAT office investigate all the hoards of cash you have not decleared. When did you pay your income tax?
Here are all the people who copped out - KOFI ANNAN (Scandanavia), KWAME NKRUMAH (USA), SAM JONAH (UK), LORD PAUL BOATENG (UK), BORIS KODJOE (UK)... should i go on?
Ghana's economy DEPENDS on remittances from families abroad. You are ignorant of this FACT. The World Bank reports that US$111 billion was remitted last 2 years.
Ghana has 26 million people and only less than 2 million job positions available every 3 years. Immigration is key to Ghana's survival.
Many Ghanaians, especially uneducated ones, choose such dangerous routes to go abroad because there simply is no other way.
There are only 3 ways: 1. steal in ghana 2. be a narcissist or 3. emigrate
You have NO SOUL and that is why you do not regard the suffering of Ghanaians who are caught up in Libya's unfortunate situation.
Susuka...you are a soulless being. You are NOT a HUMAN BEING. You are the cop out!

Perhaps you do not understand English well enough to understand what I aimed to convey across. Perhaps you are one of those who have copped out yourself and therefore you feel so very guilty that, you have to write something in defence of your spinelessness rather than to face the moral circumstances of standing up for and rebuilding the land of your birth into what we all want it to be. Perhaps you are just simply another primitive idiot who thinks that everybody should be small-minded and self-centred and mind his own business until they hit a wall then everybody should begin to mind their business for them.
Normally I wouldnt have time for the likes of you but I will take a reverse turn in the effort to re-orient your thinking for the better because contrary to your false baseless thinking, I do have a soul and that is why I think that I would rather stand and fight the odds militating against the progress of Ghana and Africa rather than seek escapist schemes in futile NARCISSISTIC comforts. And by the way, travelling abroad for education, business, tourism or mere visits, does not amount to copping out. Abandoning ones country in times of difficulty, hardship and misfortune to seek the comforts of other countries where others have sweated blood and died to make it what they want it to be, does amount to copping out - and with no apologies to anyone.
I would also oblige you to look up the meaning of the word narcissism before you use such words which clearly, are above your reach and remit.
For your information, I can post my message on this site as well as many other sites on the internet because hard-working Ghanaians here in Ghana have made it possible for me to access this site and any other that I choose. This site is just one of many others that I access. I am not obliged to use it because, as you claim, it is owned by a Ghanaian who 'copped out'. I do not know who owns this site and I do not really care who owns it. I believe that it is stories and articles of and about Ghana and the many Ghanaians in Ghana who make contributions to this site that makes it visible and a worthwhile business. If the owner is a Ghanaian who copped out, and he disagrees with my views, well then so be it, too bad for him.
I really do not understand what you mean by I do not have a 'soul'. Your understanding of that word certainly doesnt correspond with the true dictionary or social meaning of it. It seems like it is rather you who does not have a soul because because in your childishly over-heated defence of those copping out from the struggle for the development of our native motherland, you seem to drift towards the selfishly crass and insensitive sentiments of Mammon-worship as a testament of accomplishment and a justification to flee your own country. I am way above that station. I crossed that barrier ages ago. I would rather confront and try to do something about the nonsense in my own country than to be caught in the deadly cross-fire of a civil strife in another country like Libya or any other.
Worse of all, I would rather live my life in modest and proud native dignity every day rather than be belittled, humiliated and even murdered by neo-Nazis and racists who remind me at every bus and train station that they do not want me in their country.
If you are worried that I who is contributing my little bit to my country may not be paying my taxes, rather than being worried that a presumptuous clown like you finds it more reasonable to turn your back on and abdicate the entire responsibilities of your native country that nurtured both your parents and yourself and in addition, schooled you into adulthood, then I can understand your pitiable plight.
I do not know your level of education but some of the things you say implies that you are terminally challenged, educationally. For sure, Ghana certainly does not DEPEND on the admittedly large inflow of PRIVATE remittances. But have you by any chance also done some research on the more massive amounts of capital flight to Ghanaians as well as business transactions abroad?
For the same reasons that you find it morally acceptable to abandon your country in search of greener pastures, you seem to be incapable of appreciating the fact that your own country Ghana, in spite of massive mineral resources, remains a developing country with all the unfortunate shortcomings that that terminology implies.
As the saying goes, "a little education is dangerous" and it follows that the little education that you might have had also seems to have diverted your mind into a ditch. I disagree entirely with your elitist analysis of the job situation in Ghana. To begin with, I do not think that wherever you got your statistics from, which very likely is again the World Bank, know what they are talking about. I wonder if they took the many millions of farmers, laborers, fishermen, fishmongers, petty-traders, market-women, commercial-drivers and their mates as well as the vast recurrent job openings of those sectors into serious consideration. And like a true zombie, you follow such spurious statistics because it assuages and comforts your natural instincts to be lazy and not to work with your brains and hands but to depend on the hard work of others for your comforts and survival. That is why you think that all the 26 million people in Ghana are either thieves or narcissistic, that is, if they dont want to emigrate (cop out).
Again for your information, Kwame Nkrumah did not cop out. There is massive evidence on the ground on what he has done not only in Ghana but for Africa and the Blackman as a whole, after returning back to Ghana upon completion of his education in Europe and in America. Even when he was overthrown, he bravely stuck it out in Guinea, in Africa till the end. I am sorry but the rest of the names you have mentioned do not mean anything positive to me as far as this subject matter is concerned because I am not a respecter of names for the mere sake of names having held prestigious or high office only.
For anybody to say or imply that there is simply no way in Ghana, a country of enormous mineral, industrial and agricultural resources, trade potential, good climate, vast arable lands, abundant stocks of fish off our coastal waters, hardworking and educated people, for people to successfully make it, then that person cannot make it anywhere else.
Thousands of traders and businesses from other African countries, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and China, flock into Ghana each and every year in search of what some indolent and misinformed Ghanaians claim, is not there or available. Many of these immigrants, who paradoxically consider Ghana as a green pasture, become wealthy from their efforts.
What reason do you therefore have, to discount and dismiss your country as a write-off if it is not an excuse to cop-out?

It is the duty and responsibility of every nation to protect its citizens no matter where they live. However, the problem with most third-world nations is that, they lack the funds to repatriate its citizens in distress when stranded in a foreign country. Most western European countries and the US will do whatever is necessary to bring its citizens when the need arises. For example, expenses incurred by US government in repatriating its citizens are often repaid to the government by those repatriated. The U.S repatriation program is covered under a social security act. Ghanaians travel and live in foreign lands and chances are that they will find themselves in places of unrest. Why can’t the government implement a similar policy like the US’s?

Government evacuated all Ghanaians that wanted to leave and heeded the directive of the Mills administration to leave Libya. Mills went to the expense of chartering flights by Egypt Air to evacuate all Ghanaians that wanted to leave. In addition, upon arrival NADMO provided them with the means to travel to their hometowns and govt promised to hire construction and other trades workers for govt contracts when possible.
Yet in spite of all Ghana govt efforts and in spite of the genocide and brutalities carried out against blacks in Libya by the Libyan National Terrorist Council, some Ghanaians refused to leave and many more others made their way back. Our govt owes no responsibility to those Ghanaians who chose to stay and those who returned to Libya. How many times should govt waste money evacuating those who knowingly put themselves in danger by going to Nato-supported, terrorist-ruled Libya?
