The one remarkable thing about Nkrumah was that although he was for African identity, he stood also for competency and was for this purpose prepared to employ "white" competent people. His legal adviser was a British QC, Geoffrey Bing who helped him throw out that agreement Krobo Edusei had signed with Dr Savrundra. His personal Secretary also remained that Britisher lady, Erica Powell who he persuaded to transfer from the Colonial Service.

Under him therefore Ghana would not have had all,these legal problems with agreements and judgement debts. He would also have dealt with this Ivory Coast with the best legal advice

I wonder what happened to those judges that caused Ghana millions upon millions losses and shame for authorising that vessel. Bunch of ignorant and bankrupt pin heads pretending to be legal experts like their white counterparts!

I haven't read everything published on this matter but I wonder if anyone has elucidated the points of contention and dispute.

The report says Ivory Coast accused Ghana in April 2013 of encroaching on a part of it's maritime territory rich in hydrocarbons.
There's a dimension in this whole saga that needs to be interrogated fully, that should be buttressed by the availability of all the facts, to put this maritime border/boundary dispute to rest.
There's news in the public domain that Parliament at the instance of Cabinet ratified a number of petroleum agreements, anywhere between 5-10 in all. Were these blocks that were involved in those agreements situated within the boundaries in question or in dispute? What were the nature of those agreements? If those blocks involved falls within the boundaries in dispute, what becomes of those agreements should International arbitration rule that, those boundaries indeed falls within the maritime borders of La Cote d'ivoire?
Because being the first to institute legal proceedings does not mean one has won the case, in this case Ghana.
So it's important to get all the facts concerning those agreements, the blocks involved, their coordinates, their location because there could be more than meets the eye, more so when La Cote d'ivoire accused Ghana as recent as April 2013, and also looking at the haste with which the NDC gov't ratified those agreements, and the speed with which it has run to International arbitration. Something could be amiss somewhere.
