  Ghana shld be exporting Golden Tree chocolates to Switzerland and not cocoa. That would be Trade!

  Ghana we have the cocoa, we must not export the raw beans, but processed and export the value added goods.
  Our present and past governments have failed us, because, they have only cared for their deep pockets.

  "He said the discussion of the government’s team with the IMF was for technical and financial support to bring confidence to the Ghanaian economy and not a bailout as being speculated in the sections of the society".
  This statement raises 2 issues.
  1. What does technical support in this context mean? Are we to assume that the technical support or rather in simple terms, the competence required to grow the economy is non-existent in the Mahama NDC gov't, and by extension, the Economic management team headed by the Vice President for which reason, Ghana is seeking that input from the IMF? Now, if that is the case, does it not go to show clearly, the astronomically wide differences between the NPP gov't and the NDC gov't, which competence and expertise saw a HIPC economy growing into an unprecedented lower middle income economy in the absence of oil, within a mind-blowing time span of just 8years under the NPP gov't, and the NDC gov't which in the presence of oil has buried the economy of the country in the doldrums, which is by the way, the 2nd time this has happened, on the back of gargantuan looting and the absence of the very competence required to grow and drive the economy?
  Secondly, what would the financial support be described thus , if not a bailout?
  It stands to reason that which ever way the Mahama/Amissah Arthur NDC gov't looks at the current despondent situation the country finds itself, the facts still remain, that the NDC gov't lacks the competence, the intellectual ability and the vision to steer the country on the path of socio-economic growth and development, and interestingly, if the current economic situation is to be assessed critically, would be deemed to be the 2nd time they have sent Ghana to HIPC status under the 4th Republican constitution, with no relief on this second occasion.
  Now, these factors coupled with the looting, indeed, shows Ghana is in for a very long rough ride and the only remedy is to jettison the NDC gov't at the ballot box in 2016.
